polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)
A mother’s exposure to “forever chemicals” during pregnancy is linked to measurable changes in her child’s brain by age 5, new research shows.
The study, published in The Lancet Planetary Health, is the first to comprehensively examine the link between maternal per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and structural and functional changes in children’s brains.
The researchers found strong associations between different PFAS exposures among pregnant mothers and different aspects of their children’s brain structure years later
Our national problems are often directly due to low IQ among much of thepopulation.
What other responses are even possible? Simply continuing to ignore it does not seem productive, even if it spares hurt feelings.
But IQ can be boosted, or at least protected from harm. It's not entirely determined by genes. So here are some actions we should take as a country to boost the national IQ:
- Eliminate fluoride from all water supplies, because fluoride provably lowers children's IQs.
- Eliminate all vaccine requirements, because vaccines cause autism. First eliminate aluminum and mercury in vaccines.
- Reduce lead exposure, air pollution, and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)
- Promote oily fish, such as herring, anchovies, salmon, sardine, mackerel, trout, which are known to help brain health.
- Teach new parents about the known methods of boosting children's IQ, such as reading to their children.
- Promote reading real paper books, which require more concentration than reading blurbs on the internet.
- Promote intellectual competition like chess, crossword puzzles, and memory contests.
