Federal Law (Applies to federal officers)Under 18 U.S.C. § 111, it is a federal crime to forcibly assault, resist, oppose, impede, intimidate, or interfere with federal law enforcement officers (such as FBI agents, DEA agents, U.S. Marshals, Border Patrol, or other designated federal employees) while they are engaged in official duties.Penalties vary by severity:Simple assault (no physical contact or minor interference) → misdemeanor, up to 1 year in prison and fines.
Assault involving physical contact or intent to commit another felony → felony, up to 8 years in prison.
Aggravated cases (using a deadly/dangerous weapon or inflicting bodily injury) → felony, up to 20 years in prison.

This federal statute applies nationwide when federal officers are involved.

I'm pretty sure this is America now. Constant push-pull and wedge issues. It is and will continue to be constant. Laws are as political as any other issue. Everything is opinion now. There is no guiding principle anymore. I mentioned on another thread that while I do not know who TPTB are, I'm certain they are masters of manipulation. Master psychological miscreants who seem to just want chaos. To what ends, is the question.

100% agreed, not enough ballz from the Trump admin (yet), opening themselves up for these incidents to happen and subsequent criticism. The law is on their side, preemptively remove, arrest, and prosecute all people willfully impeding ice agents.

Including 3rd parties involved as accessory to original crime such as Good's wife who openly admitted she convinced Good to act and.... in loss of life situation as this, add murder charges too.

Whoever, knowing that an offense against the United States has been committed, receives, relieves, comforts or assists the offender in order to hinder or prevent his apprehension, trial or punishment, is an accessory after the fact.

Except as otherwise expressly provided by any Act of Congress, an accessory after the fact shall be imprisoned not more than one-half the maximum term of imprisonment or (notwithstanding section 3571) fined not more than one-half the maximum fine prescribed for the punishment of the principal, or both; or if the principal is punishable by life imprisonment or death, the accessory shall be imprisoned not more than 15 years.

How do you assault someone without physical contact or interference?

"Assault" is the threat, "battery" is the physical contact.
