Rory was a hugely talented athlete who made his mark across multiple sports. He played hurling with Duffry Rovers GAA, with the club paying tribute to the tragic youngster in a message shared on social media.
He was also a talented soccer player, lining out for Castledockrell United AFC. In a mark of respect, the club announced that all games will be postponed this weekend.

Jack Last, a 27-year-old man from Suffolk, died after developing a blood clot on his brain just days after receiving his first Covid-19 vaccination, an inquest heard.
Jack was given the jab on 30 March 2021. About a week later, he began suffering from severe headaches and vomiting. His condition worsened, and a CT scan on 10 April revealed a cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, a serious clot affecting the brain.
Despite surgery and treatment, Jack’s condition continued to decline. He died on 20 April 2021 at Addenbrooke's Hospital.

Rory Nairn, a 26-year-old man from Dunedin, died in November 2021, just 12 days after receiving his first dose of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine.
Following his death, a coronial inquest was opened to carefully examine how and why he died and to determine whether the vaccine played any role. The investigation involved medical experts, pathological evidence, and testimony presented in court.
During the inquest, medical evidence showed that Rory died from acute myocarditis, a condition involving inflammation of the heart muscle. This condition has been recognised as a known adverse reaction associated with mRNA Covid-19 vaccines, particularly in younger males.
After reviewing all the evidence, the coroner concluded that the myocarditis was caused by the Pfizer vaccine. As a result, Rory Nairn’s death was officially recorded as a vaccine-linked death under New Zealand’s coronial findings.
