Something looks fishy there. Redfin lists the tax base as $848,966 so it seems wrong that they only paid $585k. I think that Redfin lists the amount financed as the last "sale" price and not the actual purchase price. I say that because I've seen it list refi's as "sales" when I dig deeper w/ property shark. I'm not saying the price is fair but I don't think they're as evil as you say they are.
$749k doesn't look out of place at all. $400 per square foot is very low, even with its proximity to two busy roads and an ugly restaurant (now out of business). Checking Zillow history for 119 Macdowell (same floor plan, but a better location by about 75 yards), the sale prices were $725k, $753k, and $790k in 2004, 2005, and 2006 respectively; Zillow gives a zestimate of $872k.

This house takes the cake. I think the sellers are probably in Mars or Venus. Look at the history of the house. The seller bought on June 28th, 2005 for 585K, and wants an appreciation of 25% and wants to sell for 749K, and they are not even in best of the best schools.  http://www.redfin.com/CA/Sunnyvale/117-Macdowell-Ter-94087/home/1561991No thanks! I will wait when your bank forecloses this shit and buy it for 350K. This goes to show you how sellers are in denial about the whole things and realtwhores encourage this type of pricing.Edit: Actually, I wanted to post in Property Gossip. Patrick, How do  I move to different forum?Â
