I do think threads with pretty much the same conversation should be merged into one.

Otherwise, it's kind of like spam, attempting to force attention and but instead actually driving people away.

This is true for Bitcoin threads too. The conversation is pretty much the same on all of them.

And before I get shit on, I'm 1,000% okay with these topics being discussed. They have a place. It's just when the opinions differ, one party seems to start a new thread that tries to support their narrative. Rinse and repeat and you have 10 topics on bitcoin and the Indian issue. All points are valid to an extent, but there are times I'm here this place is now a crypto Indian site. I feed the bullshit myself on the crypto end, I just don't start new threads.

Trump was loved by 84 million.

He was about to get more black vote also. For elites this is scary. If he becomes powerful, he will challenge n take away powers from other rich. For elites, he had to be taken down. Global corporate power, mostly owned by rich ,does't work in dictatorship or socialism.

We mostly don't like Biden here. You, not we, escaped some figment of your imagination. A bad guy you were sold and brainwashed to dislike. More than half the country liked him. But that's another topic.

What happened? He left office like any thinking person knew he would. You escaped nothing. There was nothing close to a dictatorship ever going to happen. In fact the loser left is now going after an impeachment of a private citizen over private citizens on their own entering the capitol. You're so scared that he could run and win again in 2024. That's how weak the left is.

Instead of leading the left is still stuck on Trump. That's pretty telling.

Bingo! The media-induced mass hallucination continues without regard to facts.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The dangerous, evil, all-powerful, fascist, Nazi dictator Donald Trump has been voted out of office and censored, as is tradition for evil dictators.

“I never thought I’d live to see the day where America is ruled by a dictator!” said concerned American Kelly Lampler. “But at least now he’s a dictator that has been effortlessly silenced online!”

“We are living through scary times indeed under the rule of this fascistic tyrant,” said worried CNN reporter Zeeke Chambers at a time when zero journalists or dissenters have been silenced, jailed, or executed by this administration.

Like many dictators before him, Trump will only serve one term as President. The President has acknowledged he must leave office and has agreed to an orderly transition on January 20th. He will not be able to remain in office and win multiple sham elections enabling him to rule unchecked for as long as he pleases.

“A defining characteristic of dictators is how they lose elections and make claims highlighting that the election process is rigged,” explains Harvard election scholar Maggie Schultz. “This is all straight from the history books and exactly what happened with Stalin, Mao, and Hitler!”

According to sources, the dangerous Nazi will be peacefully retiring to Florida and holding the occasional rally, as dictators love to do. The peaceful Democrats in power have vowed to pursue Trump, his family, and his friends to the ends of the earth and destroy their lives forever, as Democrats love to do.

At publishing time, Apple, Twitter, and Facebook were praised for their sweeping power grabs and unprecedented suppression of freedom in a coordinated effort against Trump and all of his supporters.

Oh sure, all it took was government censorship, propaganda labelled as "fact checkers", 2 sham impeachments, a bunch of agent provocateurs, the DOJ engaging in selective political persecution, riots by useful idiots like Antifa and BLM that burned and looted city blocks, and finally massively changing the voting system and then stealing the election.

Yes, indeed, we've avoided fascism. Also War is Peace, Ignorance is Strength, Freedom is Slavery, Diversity is Strength.

I can't help but look upon you as a troll, because I seriously do not believe what you say you can possibly believe. It would take an incredible amount of cognitive dissonance and I just don't believe anybody could have that level.

But now, holy fuck. Shit got real when they defrauded the public out of democracy itself and turned DC into an armed camp.

And one more obligatory reading for @jazz_music:

https://news.yahoo.com/latino-support-trump-grew-texas-100026590.html

Many more were worried about oil field jobs, where workers without high school diplomas can earn six figures.

“Husbands, sons, brothers — they go and work in Midland-Odessa,” Barrera said. “There’s not a lot of other lucrative jobs.”

The benefits of the oil fields trickle down. New trucks fill the parking lot of the Walmart in Rio Grande City, the Starr County seat. New houses dot ranchland there and in Zapata County.

Democrats in south Texas had consolidated power over the years by remaining moderate, but lost support recently as the national party shifted left.

Mayra Flores, 33, a medical worker and mother of four in McAllen, left the Democratic Party a decade ago. She said she opposes abortion, supports law enforcement and believes in legal immigration — the way she moved from Mexico to Texas with her parents when she was 6.

Aron Peña III, a Hidalgo County GOP official, said he reached voters through gun groups, Boy and Girl Scout parents and Bible studies — the kinds of community organizing strategies he learned when he was a Democrat working for the Obama campaign in 2008.

Young Republican clubs have grown at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and South Texas College. Now Peña is trying to recruit more local GOP candidates to reduce the number of uncontested elections.

Locals drove another “Trump train” of 40 vehicles through McAllen on Wednesday night. Another parade is planned Saturday.

“We’ve only started,” Peña said. “We’ve never had this type of enthusiasm. I think this will only grow.”

Four years and you still haven’t been able to explain what President Trump did that is characteristic of fascist. Oh sure you posted links to silly opinion pieces. But you still use the term without being able to explain yourself.

I will give you a start.

Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/) is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism[1][2] characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and strong regimentation of society and of the economy[3]

By definition, since President Trump peacefully and willingly gave up the presidential transfer of power, President Trump cannot be a fascist. He in fact did the exact opposite of what a fascist would do.

No, I doubt it. He never responds when people demonstrate his thinking is flawed. This is a hallmark of a troll. They only speak, they never listen.

If I'm trying to change minds, I expose my reasoning and invite them to challenge my thinking. If my thinking is incorrect, I'll accept it and take it in - and this has happened to me plenty. Somebody that already knows they are incorrect has no interest in being corrected.

Trump left office when he "lost." He administered the best economy in 2 decades. His personality sucks. His policy was great for Americans. If that's fascism give me more.

I'll take a brash A-hole New Yorker over the guy we got now. Trump was a Democrat and I find it funny that Democrats don't know that fact. He took the path of least resistance against Hillary and "became" a Republican. You'll look back on this and regret your hatred for Trump.

Besides his personality, what did Trump do during his 4 years that was bad?

I'll start. His Covid response was god awful. He was heavy handed because little twerp Fauci and annoying voice Birx led him astray and likely intentionally. We should be open today and living normally, but he fed into people that want Americans dead from a mild virus and to help a senile old man win an election.

Again all you do is link to nonsense.

I provided you a link to the definition of fascism. I explained exactly how President Trump fails to meet the elements of that definition. You continue to argue that he is a fascist without addressing how he meets the elements of being a facist. Then you complain when you are described as being what such actions make you.

You are welcome to explain how President Trump is a fascist. You can start with:

1.) What actions did President Trump take consistent with the exercise of dictatorial power?

2.) What specifically did President Trump do to force suppression of opposition ?

3.) What actions did President Trump take towards strong regimentation of society and of the economy?

Unfortunately Trump is more popular in Nigeria than in USA. Please see this: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-nigeria/scorned-by-trump-many-nigerians-love-him-all-the-same-idUSKBN27J0S2

“President Trump, may we shout for joy over your victory,” Rev. Daddy Hezekiah of the Living Christ Mission Inc., which organized the Oct. 25 rally, said in a video.

A Pew Research Center poll in January found that 58% of Nigerians had confidence in Trump, behind only Israel, the Philippines and Kenya. A 2020 Gallup poll showed 56% of Nigerians approved of U.S. leadership, versus 24% for Europeans.

In a posh Lagos eatery, a portrait of Trump in a gold-trimmed red agbada, a flowing robe worn by Yoruba men, hangs on the wall. The traditional clothing is a “mark of respect”, said artist Peter Udoakang.

The only logical explanation as to why Trump is less popular here is that Americans are RACIST! since black people in Africa love Trump...

“I made this painting to bring him closer to us,” said the 23-year-old, adding that Trump’s “radical” approach to governing appealed to Nigerians, who are used to hustling in a tough economy to survive.

On a busy Lagos road, driver Michael Onyeonoro said if Nigeria found a similar leader, the U.S. visa troubles might not matter.

“If we have a person like Trump...Nigeria will be a better place to stay,” Onyeonoro said. “There will be no need of going outside the country.”

It's not about politeness. He could have been more savvy and smarter with presentation. He's brash. He's from New York. I personally didn't mind it, but it's literally the biggest and really only beef the left had with him. His policies helped them. I love his tweets, but people are sensitive. He didn't play to the middle left crowd that just didn't like him and was the reason they didn't vote for him. My mom is one. I know many others. They didn't like him but enjoyed the 4 years he was in office financially and said they would have voted for him if he wasn't an ass. Don't shoot the messenger, but Trump simply didn't play to that crowd.

clambo says
The Wuhan response was good; stop people flying into the USA, and development of a vaccine in months rather than years.

It was waaaaaaay heavy handed. He should have fired Fauci once he flip flopped on masks. Travel should have never stopped from anywhere. There currently is not an actual vaccine, which is fine, we don't need one anyway as it won't be effective. Just take care of yourself and you won't have problems. That's literally the solution to the virus. Not masks or banning travel. Take care of your god damn body. That should be the biggest take away from this virus. If you're a fat fuck eating burgers all day everyday, smoking, etc. expect to die from one of the weakest corona virus' ever.

Ultimately it was up to the states anyway. What's the point of paying state level politicians and taxes? Let's just have the federal government run everything and cut out the middle man? Would save money. Trump sent a ship and Cuomo sent half dead people around other half dead people with a mild virus that could put them over the edge. So I don't blame Trump at all. He just allowed "experts" to guide the covid response in the absolute worse direction. Fauci should be hung in public for his actions. The left wanted dead people and Fauci made it happen.

I liked Trump. He wasn't perfect though. If he had changed just the 2 things above, he'd have gone down as the most popular POTUS in modern history and likely would have gotten 100M votes. I think history with time will regard him better than the current hysteria from the left and media, but just a few changes could have made a difference. My list on Biden negatives would take up 20 comments, so I think I'm being fair.

But most experts did not even go that far, and some expressed concern that describing Trump as a fascist undermines the term and leads to a misanalysis of our current political situation. “If Trump was a fascist and we were in a situation akin to Germany in 1932 or Italy in 1921, certain kinds of actions would be justified,” Sheri Berman, a professor of political science at Barnard College, says. “But we are not and they are not.”
