I had concerns about the ripeness and preparation that Obama handed us when he turned a blind eye to China and North Korea and Russia. Then he give deals to Iran and Cuba.

Surely I would be a bad politician, because my principles would not allow it.

Are you suggesting that if we gave Obama one more term that peace was just about to break out all over?

To make a weighted average of conditions before and after consider the frequency.

Compared to 2009 and 2016

- How many missile launches per year from N Korea? What was done to try to reduce this?
- How many refugees coming from middle east? What was done to reduce this.
- What was the stability and outlook of Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Libya, what was done to reduce the stability?
- How many people were victims of terror, organized or lone wolf in France, Belgium, Germany. WWD to reduce this?
- How may islands were in development/existed in the China Sea. WWD to address this?
- How many poison gas attacks.....WWD to address this?
- How many countries did russia invade.....WWD to address this?
- How many computers were hacked at how many agencies.......WWD to address this?
... ...

How did this happen?

Hey Strategist, you must be fucking retarded to believe Assad used Sarin at this point in time, when his survival was all but guaranteed, rather than a guarantee-fucking "rebel" operation to pin this on Assad.

You have to be retarded to believe Trump would have attacked Syria without being sure Assad used chemical weapons.

You Dems who criticize Trump while ignoring who was in charge when this ill conditions percolated are worse than the Bolsheviks. (this is not an ad hom, its actually true!)

But we all remember the line in the sand threat of Obama. Surely all the eastern med states shook in terror.....

In reality, Obama would say that the Republicans took the line and took the sand. Then CNN and MSNBC would run that story for 2 weeks like the live video branch of the DNC which they are.

Wait, weren't you just whining this morning about what Trump would do?

Finally, you are right... if by whining, you mean analyzing Trump's earlier statement, and stating that he had basically forced himself to strike or look like the Obama he criticized over and over during the campaign. By making this statement and striking, he showed us that he did a 180 from 2013 when he pleaded with Obama to not retaliate. He showed us that being President has changed his views.

The only way that this makes any sense for Trump is if he discussed this with Moscow ahead of the attack, and he manages to not escalate this. That seems like a tall order considering Trump's personality and the fact that we have troops in Syria already training various people to fight Assad.

Let chemical weapon use become commonplace, and it will make its way back home.

You are OK with human rights abuses? Obama did nothing to stop the rise of ISIS and the genocide of the Yazidis. Now you want Trump to just stand by and let crazy maniacs use chemical weapons?

Aint gonna happen.

Or do you not know the meaning of a "targeted military strike on a remote airfield during the night with base personnel given advanced warning of incoming missiles to destroy that airfields capability to launch chemical weapon attacks"..

What you are noticing is that Russia and the US are fighting for power and control. This is why it's so funny to hear Trump talk about hoping that he likes Putin and gets along with him. It's like he thinks he's meeting people on the playground to decide who to be friends with. These are professional relationships that are dictated by finding some common ground to work together on and negotiating differences of opinion. These relationships are strategic, and not based on personal chemistry. Now, we'll see how well a 70 yr old learns new things. Should be fun.

lol. Trump campaigned on leaving Assad alone and staying out of Syria. He wanted to get along with Putin, and said that Clinton was going to start a war by imposing a no fly zone. Now, Trump is blowing up Assad's airport. My pointing out that Trump is acting very differently than most people interpreted his stance during the campaign and previous years is a sign that I have a Mangina? What explains this faulty logic? Are you still triggered by my questioning your sexuality?

If not, please explain why you think that Trump would kill Assad, and how the world would respond. Feel free to address the legality of that action.

Excellent summary by YesYNot.

Drumpf is doing a literal, complete 180° turn on everything he "believe me, we're not wasting taxpayer money in foreign wars of choice anymore" and "why would we help ISIS by taking out Assad, who like Saddam Hussein, although ruthless, hunted and killed terrorists?"

Trump is a fucking liar, the MIC and Deep State have drained him (assuming he ever was sincere - big stretch), and his son-in-law cuck-globalist, Jared Kushner (huge, huge derp and vassal of the Deep State), is now ousting the very people that actually got Drumpf elected

People like Ironman (who imagines he is Tony Stark and probably wears Ironman pajamas to bed) are to Trump what Branch Davidians
were to David Koresh.

Trump inserts U.S. into Syrian conflict, bigly, total opposite of his campaign bullshit that cucks like Ironman ate up, and now that he's done a 180, setting the stage for an ISIS and Al-Qaeda takeover of yet another MENA nation-state, while also setting the stage for conflict with Russia, Turkey, and many other nations we should be working with, Ironman sides with the libtards and the John McStains and Lady Bell Lindsey Grahams of the world...

...can't make this shit up.

It's like Alice in Wonderland or Clockwork Orange.

I don't think bombing one airfield is going to dramatically tip the balance of the war against Assad.

I think the strike is more intended to send a message that we are not going to live in a world where WMDs are used on civilian populations without consequences.

At the end of the day, we will probably see Syria partitioned to separate the Sunni, Shia and Allawite communities and hopefully we can see more moderate groups on all sides governing their territories. It will be a slow burn and cold peace like we saw in the Balkans. Seems that Muslim communities can only live peacefully in countries where there religion, tribe or sect are in the majority and in power. They are incapable of peacefully living in multi-ethnic/religious communities without a psychopathic dictator's boot on their neck.

Months, even weeks ago, Ironman (Spiderman/Batman) would have refused to believe there could be verifiable, credible proof given within a month, let alone several days, that it was Assad and not rebels or others who actually allegedly used chemical weapons.

They'd say "this is a ploy to pull on heart strings and bait the U.S. into another war commitment."

In fact, Trumpigula himself at least suggested this many times, while reaffirming his analogy of Assad to Saddam (better to let a dictactor who kills ISIS/Al-Qaeda stay than remove them)..

Now, after their hero-god, Trump, has engaged based on the Hillary Clinton "YouTube Video Model," they zealously defend Trumpigula.

Next up, Liberia, Darfur, Ivory Coast, Myanmar, etc. etc. etc.

What part of my comment said the attack was designed to remove asshat from power? A targeted military strike? and then what? We did 12 years of targeted military strikes with no plan of any kind in Vietnam and lost the war.

Captain confusion needs to get himself and his staff together and decide what is going to be the objective and how it will be achieved.

How exactly does a tomahawk attack on an airport in western Syria help village people in the mountains of northern iraq? How does the US getting involved in the civil war in a different country on the side of the genocidal maniacs help them?

You are very very confused on who is fighting who and where.

The best way to help the Yazidis and pretty much all of the middle east would be to track down the saudi funding of terrorism including ISIS and cut it off. But the saudi ass sucking neocon chicken hawk crowd would never let that happen. These are your people.

Just a reminder.
This is about oil. Don't let politicians define the narrative here.
It's not about religion, genocide or a civil war.

Russia serves Turkey with a gas pipeline. That gas goes on to Italy and parts of Europe.
There are 2 new pipeline deals trying to be struck: Qatar Pipeline and the Iran-Iraq-Syria Pipeline.
Both the new pipeline routes go through which country?

Syria.

Russia has been able to get Assad on their side in blocking the 2 new pipelines.
All SA or Iran have to do is get a new puppet in power to green-light one of these deals.
I'm guessing the US is backing SA and Qatar, hence the blind eye as to what SA is up to in Yemen.
That's why we launched 59 Tomahawk missiles totaling $49,088,000

Free college? Where we gonna get money like that?
