Though for $35,000 AUD, maybe not. I can rent a trailer for much much less.
"C21 must be desperate. What kind of crappy marketing dept do they have?"
One that doesn't talk to their numerous Shanghai offices.

probably use JB Watson Jr Associates - if you go out the back, they're still banging iron bars with hammers next to babies' ears for jollies...
astrid,
that's a good one. I did see their Shanghai outfit. However, I have to say the mainland RE agents are even less professional and ethical than the scums here, much worse in fact.
OK, you could put the cardboard house inside the shipping container house - then it would be both waterproof and secure in one swoop - like a snail or a lobster shell. Problem solved... otw people could break in with a penknife...
p.s. why do architects have to be so f@cking precious about everything...
Though I must say, if I had the money, I'd want poured concrete and glass. those are the prettiest. The Tugendhat House is pretty much my dream house.

Why am I so not surprised :P
Why am I so not surprised
I think RE professionals in this country is already the best. Give them some credit.
DS,
An alternative is to buy a big ole airplane hanger and place the cardboard house inside.
However, their asking price is just exorbitant for the quality and quantity of living space provided.
Peter P,
No, owneroccupier and I both have our opinions about Mainland Chinese business practices, and they're pretty darn bad.
concrete and glass are alittle boring. a tin can house scream creativity..
I think concrete with ceder wood sidings will be great. Must have lots of glass.

I won't be surprised either.
8) (What are you plans for the apacolypse?)
I will offer my services as a survivalist consultant, teaching clueless urbanites how to grow potatoes and tomatoes.
Astrid: "repo outfits and pawn shops will be everywhere "
Buy EBAY stock! ;)
I'd find a company, held through a series of business trusts, that helps homedebtors through bankruptcy in return for essentially indentured servitude.
RE agents here used to be much better.
The one I used for buying my home was very good, extremely informative, very considerate, and hardworking. See, only the ethical, honest and hardworking agents got to stick around during a down cycle. She gave me lots of tips and advice in aspects that were not aligned with her own interest of scoring a bigger commission.
I haven't come across any RE agents half as knowledgable as her ever since. Too bad that she is already retired.
However, their asking price is just exorbitant for the quality and quantity of living space provided.
only $35K for a solid, durable structure made of Visy packing cardboard? cheap at twice the price... altho twice the price would get you a 2 bedroom brick house... (They recently got into very serious trouble for fixing cardboard prices with a competitor, heh)
So how do you win favor with rich women?
you're not looking for a rich woman, surely? 8O
I like my realtor just fine and would use her again, and I have a feeling she'll weather a RE downturn just fine.
DS
but hate to rent is.
Plus, my boyfriend has a brother. He may be in need of help.
lobster shell
Where does the meat go? :D
ergh, that would be the inhabitants... maybe best to stick to real lobster
owneroccupier,
I think the good realtors care about their reputation because they depend on referrals. Thus, a happy customer can be more valuable than a one time transaction. Unfortunately, the high dollar amounts of recent transaction has distorted the balance, by a lot.
My boyfriend's brother is pretty good looking. Not my type, but good looking.
maybe best to stick to real lobster
DS, I have to say that Australian lobsters are my favorite lobsters. How do you guys cook them down there?

i will write a book about it and retail for about $29.95, maybe $39.95 in hardback. non-fiction shelf. do you think it will sell?

i actually don't like seafood at all, heh. the sun, sea and sand here are all wasted on me...
do they boil them? heh... should be plenty of recipes online...
Take 1 lobster... Did you know 'recipe' is Latin for 'take'?
I see this little information extraction exercise is not going anywhere.
Okay, want to go back to wacky get rich quick schemes?

What?
Okay, at least the rack of lamb down there must be amazing.
do they boil them?
BBQ would be great. :)
Peter P,
I'd recommend lobster sashimi, it's quite good.
Also, have you tried eating live shrimp, the texture is quite excellent.
As for lamb, I recalled reading that Iceland has the best lamb. Their lambs are all, erh, free ranged. They're actually trying to cull the population to reduce their environmental impact.
I’d recommend lobster sashimi, it’s quite good.
Absolutely. Especially with Aussie lobsters. Sashimi of Maine lobsters do not taste nearly as good.
have you tried eating live shrimp
Live or raw? Unfortunately all shrimps are dead by the time thay reach my plate.
Live shrimp. This seems to work best with fresh water shrimp from near Shanghai, though I might catch some interesting parasites this way.

I prefer saltwater seafood.
But fresh water shrimps from Shanghai taste very good sauteed and served with black vinegar.
Do you buy them live? Half of my family refuse to eat these things if they're not cooked alive.
Astrid, do you know of a place that serves Shanghai-style fresh water shrimps? I tried a few Chinese restaurants here and they all use the wrong shrimps.

It is fine if they are not "live" but fresh enough.

Ladies and gents,
