Laissez faire sure is, and 'possession is 9/10s the law' is very conservative.
Avatar shows my general appreciation of utopian minarchy, which will simply devolve into rule of privilege via corporations.
Middle-class site manager in the film has a budget to keep and bonuses to get. Labor just does its job for the paycheck. The silent owners of the corporation reap the windfalls, where the profits accrue.
Avatar is the minarchist's wet dream. Bunch of natives sitting on a gold mine with no means to defend it.
I don't mean to knock capitalism, as entrepreneurialism and small business is awesome. My beef is the unchecked excesses of privilege and abuses of market power that capital concentration creates.
I mentioned this earlier, but an early, and great, capitalist in California history sorta got screwed when the railroads came to LA. He had to sell his life's work and become a VP or somesuch of SP. Funny story.

Oh brother, take the iPods off the kids, and wake their asses up and we'll see what is and isn't politically important.
It's getting to where I can't watch any T.V. show movie or even a historic documentary with out an petty unimportant political message being touted as a message from the dooms day seers.
Even documentary's on Rome Civilization ends with a Global warming message, or a 2012 spin on it. Which btw I'm apauled and frightened that the media talks about 2012 like it's proven science.
Adults pick the stupidest shit to be concerned with. Where in the hell are the millions of kids on the white house lawn with crippled vets giving Obama and every one in Washington with an office chair a big brazen finger?

2012 spin? In the ending of the movie, we all know the survivors must now cope with the grim reality that there are millions of other survivors on the only continent they can land. Let's hope they have big guns on those boats or arks or whatever.

Lets hope the Africans spread AIDS to them in the form of blankets like what was did to the Natives.
I did enjoy the movie, mostly because of the amazing 3D visual effects.
However, I was deeply disturbed by what I saw as the message behind the movie. It appears to celebrate the protagonist's treason against his people and their manifest destiny.
What do you think?
