I am referring to this calculator http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/business/buy-rent-calculator.html If you click on Advanced settings, under Other there is Inflation rate.
What I don't understand is why when I make inflation very large (above 10%) it becomes "never better to buy"?

My only guess is that you didn't adjust the appreciation of the house and rent increase numbers to match the inflation rate.
