What is the best way for me to post a video? I can't figure it out for some reason.

Put it somewhere such as youtube or google videos (if it's not already there), and then post a link to it. (or maybe there is a way to attach a video here - but don't know about that).

I was going to do that, but I wanted a still image of the video to show instead of just a link. The "preview" button doesn't seem to be working.

I think poster means inline videos, there was a recent Patrick thread which had one.
