Some observations of Canada from my 10 day house-swap with a Canadian family in Toronto:

Native Canadian people are helpful, but Canadian immigrants don't talk to strangers.
Most things are more expensive than in the US, like $6.50 Canadian for a Hagen Daas ice cream bar in Toronto Island park.
The Lindt chocolates are all forgeries, just crap in elite wrappers. Canadians are unaware of the fraud, since they've never had good chocolate.
Via Rail beats Amtrak by a long shot. Via Rail is clean, on-time, and cheap.
Tap water tastes pretty good.
There are two sales taxes instead of just one: provincial and federal.
Beer and wine in Ontario are sold only by the provincial liquor monopoly, at twice the cost as in the US. BYOB/W
Public pools are free, though run-down.
Immigrants in Toronto are the largest percentage of any city in the world.
The subway system in Toronto is efficient and inexpensive.
Milk comes in a bag rather than in a gallon jug.
Prostitution advertising is brazen and cheap.
There are many Muslim women, some completely covered in Burqas.
Women have more tattoos than in the US.
Marijuana can be smelled in the air on many major Toronto streets.
There is a visible gay population in Toronto.
There are a surprising number of Canadian flags on cars and houses.
The Canadian accent becomes more noticeable the more you hear it.

My first interaction with a Canadian was in the 1980's. I dialed a phone number in the Midwest and I got it wrong. I got the wrong number to some place in Alberta. A lady picked up the phone and we quickly realized I had dialed the wrong number. But, the lady just kept talking to me. She was so damn nice. It was like she had made a new friend.

Next interaction -- Canada in 1998. I drove through Windsor heading to Toronto. My piece of crap car broke down. No cell phones in those days. I hopped a fence in the rural area and went to a nearby house.

The fellow inside actually answered and opened the door!! Got the local towing company called and could not have been more kind, helpful, nice, (I am running out of words).

I was with my soon to be wife in the late 1990's (who was in Canada), and I wound up spending some time in the greater Toronto area. It did not take too long before I decided to change the Canadian national anthem.

"Oh, Canada, where are the white people?
Everyone I see is a Chinee."

It never caught on.

Oh, this one is too easy. Aside from being sold in a bag, these Canucks actually call whole milk "homo milk". What else to say?

MEHAKDEEP SINGH, truck driver, collided with the Giroux family’s vehicle while he was preoccupied by his phone, unaware of the slowing vehicles in front of him. Killed two children in back of car.

Émerik was 7.

Maélie was 3.

The Indian murdered their 68-year-old grandmother too.

It is a good price just what you'd expect from Costco.

It comes to about $20 per pound in US dollars. I doubt if anyone can find ribeye at a better price in their local Supermarket.

$61.99 / 2.2 lb/kg = $28.17 / lb

1.403 Canadian Dollar to the US puts it at about $20 per pound US.

Good point!

28.17 / 1.4 = 20.12

In my neck of the woods kind of. That's good news. Not an unreasonable commute from where I work with no traffic. 35-40 min. If you speed even faster. I'm a geezer driving wise.

Wife just bought Angus beef chuck roast at Sam's Club for $7.98/lb. Not sure how that compares.

Carney announced an economic alliance with China to replace the US as its main trade partner.

The Net responds....

334   stereotomy   2025 Oct 25, 7:29pm

Carney is a chief acolyte in globomomo. He probably personally signed off on the $75 million fake Reagan speech that drew Trump's ire. He wasn't even legitimately elected. He's just there so that globohomo can dig itself deeper into the present hole they've dug.

All I know is to regularly water the roof of my house and take my family to the gun range so that we can defend our residence once the EBT riots commence.
