Sen. Dick Durbin (D) Illinois will introduce the "Main Street Fairness Act" (doesn't that have a nice sound to it?) which will force states to collect sales taxes on all purchases made on the internet. It's such a nice feeling to know that our servants in government are working so hard to make sure life is fair.

And that 'Main Street Fairness Act' sounds so sanitized, given what type of 'Act' he plans to perform on future internet users and taxpayers. On that note, shouldn't that last word in the post title be 'sex' rather than 'tax'?

And yes, yes... I already know that most states already have a 'use' tax in place that should cover this topic anyhow. I just couldn't resist!
