Thanks to this forum for mention of SNY, this is a winner. Doing well, plus dividend!

Also discussion of TSLA led me to take a long position with my "long shot" gambling money.

aren't you gambling a bit with SNY though? How exactly do they make money?

we are also doing a conservative long position on TSLA. It seems promising with gas prices going up and up.

Eh? Gambling on SNY? Sanofi-Aventis is a pharmaceuticals company. Ranges from insulin to vaccines, and they acquired Genzyme recently. I see this as one of my more conservative plays.

oh, sorry I misunderstood the company, thought it was a media company. I'll have to check it out.

i just drove by the old Nummi building off of 880 theres a HUGE Tesla sign on the front of it now. It seems to me that they mean business.

They might still be figuring out their market positioning, their supply lines. That takes time.

they mean business.

Sure, they MEAN business, they just don't have a viable business in standalone form. I have very little faith in Tesla.

Of course that does not mean one cannot make money on the stock... That depends on what the biggest herd of sheeple are thinking.

I've put some research into SNY, I am not sure how much I can estimate their growth.
They are expected to make money starting November when Lipitor loses a patent and SNY is going to be selling their generic version of it. However, I think that is already priced into the stock price.

Either way it might be a good play as a lot of pharmaceutical patents are getting ready to expire in the next few years. According to analysts of course there isn't much growth expected, but than again analysts are often wrong.
