Don't hold high tension power lines up to your ear you will probably be fine.

Freaks me the heck out so I don't do it often. I don't care what any study says - at least for the next 20 years. Your nerve cells use these principles. Look up "action potential".
Also, I think I've heard of studies measuring cell polarization and there may be some freaky vids on the net showing MRI or some other sort of scans. Your brain is definitely affected harmless or not.
I've seen a website that shows EMF by phone model. I can't recall where though.
