The tide is going out, yes.
I think I know why but this thesis is not getting any airtime. Krugman comes closest but he really hasn't stated it clearly yet (he was a globalist in the 1990s so he has some blocks here).
Due to environmental effects, it is possible that well over half this country has an IQ under 100. Throw in religious fundamentalism and the religious right, and you've got a 40% bloc that is basically a repeat of the Know-Nothings of 150 years ago.
Sensible people in politics (what few are left) are running scared now. It's inconceivable to me that Feingold -- one of the smartest men in the Senate -- got booted last year by some tea party twit. Christine O'Donnell got 40% of the vote in Delaware.
The Democrats have to assemble their caucus of stupid people to counter the Republicans caucus of stupid people every two years.
I guess that's how democracies work, and why we this nation was originally set up to be a lot less democratic.
This country basically needs to double our taxes to pay for government and war. What are the chances of that happening?
People wanted a four trillion dollar war and now don't want to pay for it. Idiots.
Those Idiot Democrats are the one Waging the War, Hell NO, us underling cretins don't want to pay for Obama's pretty War horse.
God Bless Rupert Murdoch for scaring the shit out of shit birds like you two, that think your political dreams don't come true because everyone else is stupid. I sleep very well knowing that man is in the service of this country.

Your icon looks smarter than you usually sound.
BOOOO I'm Rupert Murdoch I'm a media mogul, I'm media'ing right now, and there's nothing you can do about it. Bow down before me and tremble. Woooooo Woooooo
What a bunch of Boobs!

"Maybe we should git us one of them there midgets with a Broom Pa, then we's could sweep out the incumbents."
There is a long history of people raiding the countryside and 'conquering' people for the right to 'tax' them, and passing these households down to their children as inheritances...going all the way back to the Mongols and probably earlier.
Same old thing. It is a joke.
This is the outcome of an agrarian evolved society where people stick to their land, and raiders come by repeatedly and threaten them for money offering 'protection'.

This is true, good historical analysis.
The more of joke it is, the less faith people will have in it to deliver da welfare suggah!
That's great in my book.
biggest welfare gets delivered to the top on a golden platter and that isn't changing any time soon.
Over the past few years I've come to the sick realization that the U.S government is
no longer representing the interests of it's own citizens.
The justice department is increasingly used to justify and give credibility to acts that are
clearly harmful and perhaps illegal to this country. I look at the ATF operation of Fast and Furious
and the response from AG Holder which is to bat down the hatches and not talk to anyone, I see
the justification the Justice department and FTC gave wallstreet for the financial crisis. You know,
the line about nothing illegal happened so let's just move past it. Also the justice department's constant
refusal to investigate connections between the political class and corporate interests.
Also of important note is that one man has been allowed to corner the media market for the center right- right spectrum of politics and has veto power over any GOP presidential nominee or candidate for any GOP national office.
I am quickly losing hope in the instutions of this country, as ever more these institutions are used to provide cover to certain actions and happenings that are clearly harmful to the American public. It's bad enough they ignore them , worse that they say they are not illegal so they are justifiable and are basically endorsed by said institutions.
The dumming down and apparent lack of disinterest by the larger American public is a bad omen for this nation. Clearly the divide and conquer approach has worked wonders it would seem.
Anyone else seeing what I am seeing or am I just imagining things?
