"An interesting analysis of the 2008 presidential election by Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University...

John McCain lost his bid for the presidency even though he won 29 states [continental] and Obama 19. The square miles of land by which Obama won were a mere 580,000 compared to McCains victory over 2,247,000 square miles. The murder rate per 100,000 residents in pro-Obama areas is 13.2 In McCain areas the murder rate is a much smaller 2.1. Doctor Olson notes that Obama's territory mostly encompassed citizens living in low income tenements and living off various forms of government welfare." [From Independent Living.]

My guess is that a high percentage of Obama supporters are those of the nearly 50% of Americans who pay no Federal income tax. The government is losing its ability to shower money to the unproductive people - most of whom are dangerously dependent on a continued plundering of an economy that is now threadbare. There is no hope in socialism.

P.S. I didn't vote for either McCain or Obama. The lesser of two evils is still evil.

I still bet a large percentage of the dependent class voted for Obama...how else would they keep the "gravy train" going?

Huh?

I said "a large percentage of the dependent class voted for Obama". I was referring to the dependent class - the indentured voters- not recipient states.

Soooo... what you are saying is that while red states receive most of the welfare payments most of the recipients in said welfare.. uh I mean, red states are voting blue?

Twist it around all you want, the plain truth is most who vote for a living voted for Obama.

Hmmm... well I guess that it is true that anyone in the top 5% income level voting for Obama are voting against their own best interest, and anyone voting for Bush and not in the top 5% are voting against their best interest.

Vincente,

How dare you post a picture of a real Teabagger who leeches off of the system who didn't vote for Obama! You know that the Teabaggers/conservatives/libertarians/republicans around here don't like facts. They get confused when you give them facts.

Close. Top 5% is about $180K in household income. Obama's proposed tax changes were to people making $250K in AGI, which could easily be $270-$320K in income (or more in depending on a number of factors).

That said, Obama pushed through the Bush tax cuts for people making over $250K in AGI too, so I'm not sure why this needs even be mentioned.

In addition, best interest is not always just financial.

Our dimwitted representatives guarantee the American people a safe, secure life...in exchange for our freedoms and liberty. They promise free health care, "quality" education, safety and security and the American Dream.

Instead, they gave us a $14 trillion national debt, a failing economy, a reckless foreign policy, an inflationary monetary system and contempt for our nations founding documents.

Conservatives are very unhappy about this and now you see them coming together and making their voice's heard.

Enough is enough.

Too bad that the conservatives spent the entire $14 trillion while reducing revenues. That's how we really got into this mess. That's the real inconvenient truth.
