Beyond a certain point it's just sad and destructive.
Charlie Daniels "Legend of Wooley Swamp" running through my head today. Lucius Clay hiding all his money in jars and burying it all around. Why was he digging up some of the jars when he was killed? So he could run his fingers through it. The more I think about it's sick, and I just picture some perverted old man jerking off over a pile of gold coins. Then he dies and wealth is literally destroyed when it goes back into quicksand with his killers. Missed opportunities during his lifetime to enrich not just his own life but those around him.
