Shocking,...yes SHOCKING !!!
(remember - she's a black woman who grew up in a white morman famly)
Republicans fucked up when they jumped on this. That's my opinion anyway. Although then again they didn't, because they're all so stupid that they will be patting eashother on the back for nailing the liberals for being such hypocritical racist haters. We're talking world class skill at believing what they want to believe, just like our good captian. .
Racists are gonna be racists no matter what their political alignment is. Conservatives have their fair share as well.
Liberals show their true values.
Melissa Harris-Perry concluded the Whats So Funny About 2013? segment of her Sunday show with a chorus of laughter at the black grandson pictured in former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romneys family Christmas photo. The chuckles were directed at baby Kieran who was adopted by Romneys son Ben and his wife Andelynne in September.
I don't know if Melissa Harris-Perry is a liberal or not -- conservatives never use the term correctly -- but a simple Google search reveals that she is black. So the argument that a "black liberal is anti-black" seems pretty ridiculous. It's hard to discriminate against yourself and your own people. I can only think of one case...

Additionally, trying to slander liberals based on a single case, whose video is not even provided, is clearly a hasty generalization fallacy. In contrast, conservatives are overwhelmingly racist. The very day that the Supreme Court's 5-4 decision on Section 4 of the Voting Rights Act came out, southern (red) states passed voter suppression laws. That same freaking day. 'Nuff said. Conservatives are the racists.
Liberals believe in equality under law and are appalled by any law that attempts to prevent a person with the right to vote from doing so, and we believe that voting should be a right, not a privilege, which means it cannot be taken away, not even for conviction of crimes. In contrast, conservatives love to selectively enforce legislation designed to systematically decrease the number of black voters. That's motherfucking racist.
Once again, conservatives demonstrate their shameless hypocrisy. You want to promote equality under the law without regard to race? Then petition government to make it illegal to take away the right to vote for the conviction of any crime.
Real liberals would have made sure the adoptive parents sent the kid to a school where he would be converted to gayness, or at least given sex education, which would result in more pregnancies that liberals could tax the wealthy to pay for.

Wow, if you didn't have all those voices in your head I'd say you have nobody to talk to.
How do you ignore John Bailo
and errc?
Like most everyone on that list I wonder why anyone would place them on ignore, but really these two really stand out.
They never say anything, but state their own preferences in an argument and let it go at that.

Pretty impressive pile. I am honored to be on BB's list. What an A+ douchebag.
Hey, I like it that someone has a bigger ignore list than me. Mine is just in the thirties.
BBill is one of the more thoughtful posters on here. I've learned a lot from his posts. i think he just doesn't suffer fools well.
How do you ignore John Bailo
and errc?
In the case of errc, I have him on ignore too. I understand that one very well. He's ignored by 5 people. As for John Balio, yeah, I don't know. I agree with you there.
I'm sure that in some cases BB is light on the ignore trigger finger, but you have to respect him. He's here to share thoughts with those that will appreciate them, and as I said, he doesn't suffer fools well.
Like him, I use the ignore feature to not see a lot of peoples posts. Why? Because I know myself, and I'm not here to get trolled, at least not too much. And I'm interested in reading thoughtful conversation and not BS.
Of course I haven't ignored you yet, and you do troll me on almost a daily basis. Not that your intent is to troll me personally. I guess it's your creativity that keeps me from putting you on ignore.
Say what you will about BB, he's one of the few that can be counted on for thought provoking analysis and commentary. He has a sense for what the really good questions are, and he's not all that political.
I'm being ignored by one. At least someone on here some intelligence.
I'll say what all the politically correct are thinking.
Every family needs a token.
Typical liberal.
Exactly what college professor in the U.S. uses the Communist Manifesto as a textbook? This image illustrates how divorced the conservative view of reality is from the real thing.
Why are you rehashing Zimmerman again??
Yeah one faux pas out of context is something all liberals are behind.
Wow. Talk about a closed mind.
How about every black (comedian or otherwise) that uses the "N" word?
(don't bother saying that is not discrimination, it is. )
It's hard to discriminate against yourself and your own people. I can only think of one case...
Liberals believe in equality under law
hahahahahahaha. liberals believe in equal protection of laws? BWAHAHHAHAHAHH!..

Being ignored by such a self indulgent fool is ok with me. Someone who lives in his mothers basement while waiting for georgism to redistribute the land so he can get his own place to live without putting out any effort isn't much worth reading.

It's right there on the book shelf next to the "all of America's problems are the middle aged white guys fault".
Though I'm curious, who teaches that class Al Jolsen?
Wow. Talk about a closed mind.

You are truly a dumb ass.
The entire reason African Americans use the word "nigger" is to take away its power. By taking ownership of the word, they prevent others from using it against them.
It's like Dumbledore said
Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.
Schooled your ass Hogwarts style!

Didn't he brag some time ago that he bought $1M house on the waterfront in WA?
Liberals believe in equality under law

Laughing derisively at a truth does not make it less true. Nor does it convince anyone with more intelligence than a five-year-old that the truth is not so.
Equality under law is one of the defining attributes of liberalism. It is precisely because of equality under law that liberals support
- interracial marriages
- same sex marriages
- the repeal of slavery, segregation, Jim Crow laws, voter ID laws intended to prevent legitimate voters from practicing their rights
- the repeal of prohibition on felons from voting
- the separation of church and state
- the prohibition of the state from placing Christian religious artifacts on courtroom and city hall grounds when that same government rejected Hindi, Satanic, and Wiccan religious artifacts.
- the repeal of anti-drug laws that target drugs based on the ethnicity that use them or that are prosecuted selectively
Notice how my response differs from yours? I provide specific, verifiable points, whereas you just laugh derisively without supply and rational for your laughter. Which do you think any intelligent person is going to weigh more?
show their true values.
One episode by one person, who later apologized btw, says nothing about the values of all or even most liberals. The OP's headline, however, says a lot about him. It shows he is ignorant and/or attempting to mislead others. It's probably a Texas thing, and I base that on their record of electing Rick Perry and W as Governor, i.e. not all Texans are ignorant and misled, but a majority of Texas voters appear to be, including the OP.
Liberals show their true values.
Are you sure Liberals actually HAVE values???? Really???
Yeah, liberal have values:
1. We are all equal under law with the same rights.
2. We should be allowed to do anything we want that does not infringe upon other people's rights.
3. Infringement upon anyone's rights is not acceptable.
4. There should only be rights, not privileges.
Contrast that to conservative values:
1. My race, nation, clan, tribe is the only one that matters. Kill or enslave everyone else.
2. No one should have sex but me and who I'm having sex with. I'm into the most sordid things, but that's ok. If anyone else wants sex though, he's a pervert or she's a slut.
3. Whatever religion I was born into is, by definition, the right religion and whatever fictitious god that religion advocates, by definition, supports everything I say.
4. Any economic freedom that helps me acquire vast sums of wealth without doing any work is a fundamental economic principle that must be adhered to in order to prevent economic collapse. However, any economic freedom that helps other people acquire wealth, whether through hard work or not, is fucking Communism.
And that pretty much sums up the two opposing schools of thought -- and I use the term "thought" very loosely when describing conservationism; it's more like reptilian instinct.
Exactly what college professor in the U.S. uses the Communist Manifesto as a textbook?
It's right there on the book shelf next to the "all of America's problems are the middle aged white guys fault".
Though I'm curious, who teaches that class Al Jolsen?
So, in other words, you don't have an answer so you just make up a title for a non-existent book.
Are you, by any chance, Clint Eastwood?
You know, a bitter old, white guy who's talking to an imaginary black president about all the things wrong in his delusional view of what America is now?
Does the fact that you are repeatedly wrong about what the facts are ever cause you to doubt your politics? Or does fear and hate trump reality?
No matter how long you yell at that chair, it's still just a chair. There is no one in it, except in your mind. And even that is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, and incidents either are products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual events or locales or persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental.
Look that is a College course my brother's Cuban wife, walked out on.
It might not be the course title, but it was an accurate description.
You know, a bitter old, white guy
Those bitter old guys become pissed off old guys, and they eventually join in with pissed off young guys and vote the bastards out. I've seen this movie.

The problem with college is capitalism. Colleges are businesses, and as such, they screw over their customers, whom they view as sheep. That's the free market for you.

I've seen it too. It's how the Tea Party got elected. And now the Tea Party is destroying the Republican Party.
There's a danger with relying on lunatics for your minions. They tend to go crazy and fuck things up.
People with that many ignored users have lost both the right and the opportunity to be part of the conversation. I'm cool with ignoring the spammers or blatant unrepentant fools and advertisers, but ignoring everyone who thinks differently than you is just ignorant.
Marcus, for instance, has me on ignore. Though that's because there's no talking to that guy, he's someone who will hold the same opinion until the day he dies no matter how wrong it clearly is.
There's a few people here who deserve to be on the ignore list basically because they seldom if ever provide useful debates. I'm all for debating with others whom don't share my own opinions. But when the participation of some members is boiled down to posting stupid articles to support their lame right wing cause or otherwise make post after post about how much they dislike liberals then onto the ignore list they go. You can't argue with those kinds of people.
One episode by one person, who later apologized btw, says nothing about the values of all or even most liberals.
Well it certainly says something about MSNBC - right?
Isn't this like their 3rd or 4th major TV talking head that they had to suspend or fire for being a total a$$hole on air? Olbermann, Bashir, Baldwin, Ed......who is running that clown show?
And since MSNBC is every bit ideological Liberal as Fox is Conservative, I think we can fairly draw some conclusions.
BTW - love Bill's list. Poor dear can't countenance a single diverse thought.
I've seen it too. It's how the Tea Party got elected. And now the Tea Party is destroying the Republican Party.

Fuck things up like Detroit? Stockton? San Bernardino? Vallejo? Chicago? Jefferson County?
Can you provide any examples on that scale Dan?
Marcus, for instance, has me on ignore. Though that's because there's no talking to that guy, he's someone who will hold the same opinion until the day he dies no matter how wrong it clearly is.
No I don't, and that's BS. Example's ? I'm no more opinionated than you. Probably way less.
I do get frustrated with the ignorance about unions out there from some, and that people don't understand that their black and white absolutist view of unions hurts them even if they are not in a union.
Yeah, and I have dared to argue in defense of religion on occasion, because while I see the extremely obvious downside, and the ignorance and hate that often is promoted by religion, I don't blame all religion in total for that, and I'm not convinced that humanity would have been better off without ever having any religion.
he's someone who will hold the same opinion until the day he dies
Actually my views on religion are just one of many examples of an opinion that changed at some point well in to adulthood.
It may be true that you should be on ignore, if you're the kind of idiot who confused arguing, or even intolerance for stupidity with being too intractable with ones opinions.
When I put someone on ignore, it's usually because I know myself, and I do not wish to argue with them anymore. Either because of the trollish nature of their comments, or because I know I won't get anywhere, and because I don't feel there is even much to offer others in refuting their non backed up pov.
he's someone who will hold the same opinion until the day he dies no matter how wrong it clearly is.
I like that last part. Pot calling the kettle black ? Projection, with logical proof, all all in one little sentence.
Well it certainly says something about MSNBC - right?
Perhaps, but MSNBC is a business with its own agenda, sometimes "Liberal" and other times not: "Phil Donahue on His 2003 Firing from MSNBC, When Liberal Network Couldn’t Tolerate Antiwar Voices"
Perhaps, but MSNBC is a business with its own agenda, sometimes "Liberal" and other times not: "Phil Donahue on His 2003 Firing from MSNBC, When Liberal Network Couldn’t Tolerate Antiwar Voices"
Oh come on - that was over 10 years ago.
There can be no doubt that MSNBC morphed into the Liberal version of Fox news since the second Bush term.
