At least 84 people were killed in the southern French town of Nice when a truck ran into a crowd celebrating the Bastille Day national holiday in a suspected terrorist attack.

The truck rammed into the crowd on the Promenade des Anglais seaside walk in the centre of town, regional newspaper Nice Matin reported, citing its own reporter at the scene.

French television channel BFM TV said the local prefecture in Nice was treating the incident as an attack and was asking people to stay at home.

The reason for the crash remained unclear.

Sebastien Humbert, the prefect for the Alpes-Maritime area, said: "A truck rammed into the crowd over a long distance, which explains this extremely heavy toll."

Mayor Christian Estrosi wrote on Twitter: "The driver of a van appears to have killed dozens. Stay in your homes for now. More info to follow."

I do know, because they never hesitate to tell us the reason for their terrorism. It's Islam, all of Islam, and nothing but Islam. Allah - ho- Akbar

WRONG, you don't even know that you don't know.

This stupid meme has been circulated by both sides.

It is it's own charade of posers never looking or listening to the people who have been bombed to oblivion.

Your sound byte thinking is epitome of ignorance

You already indicated you don't know. Let those who know, do the thinking.

What do Spain, Britain, Belgium and France have to do with U.S drone strikes

3 out of 4 countries mentioned have a strong, ghettoized muslim presence that agitate when things are not going their way. Due to the ghettoized nature, it is easy for them to organize and agitate as an excuse in response to drone strikes.

Yes why don't you try doing some instead of regurgitating the motto of the military industrial complex?

To not acknowledge US involvement is insane. IIRC the US has killed 250,00 non combatants in just Iraq and Afghanistan. But you don't "think" that has something to do with the situation? What the is wrong with you?

Bullshit. We did not kill 250,000 people. Suicide bombers killed most of the civilians.
There are riots by Islamists going on in India. WTF have we got to do with it?

Here's an old piece from 2005 written by Iraqi expat - "It's America's fault"

"Everything bad happening in this world, and I mean everything, is America’s fault. The ruler is oppressing the people; it’s America’s fault. All Arab leaders are no good; it’s America’s fault. There are lots of problems in Africa; it’s America’s fault. Saddam was brutal and killed many innocents; it’s America’s fault. Saddam invaded Kuwait; it’s America’s fault. Sanctions were imposed on Iraq; It’s America’s fault. 9/11 killed about 3000 innocents; it’s America’s fault. Islamophobia is increasing; it’s America’s fault. There are terrorists in the world; it’s America’s fault. Someone died in Iraq yesterday; it’s America’s fault. Someone will die in Palestine tomorrow; it’s America’s fault. And so on and so forth, it is always America’s fault."

LOL. Sounds like Indigenous.

BULLSHIT, this is the 1st result on a google search:

"The wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan have taken a tremendous human toll on those countries. As of March 2015, approximately 210,000 civilians have died violent deaths as a result of the wars."

I wonder how many would have died if France allowed CCW and a few people in the crowd were able to stop the guy a lot sooner before the cops finally got there?

Half as much.

People cross the street with their hands on thier heads as a French soldier secures the area July 15, 2016 after at least 60 people were killed along the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France, when a truck ran into a crowd celebrating the Bastille Day national holiday July 14.

It's time to ban religion from western civilization so that we can preserve all other freedoms. When religion causes innocent civilians to put their hands over their heads as soldiers point assault rifles at them, it's time to end religion once and for all. People's freedom to indulge in delusions that cause the murder and subjugation of others does not trump all our other freedoms.

#noRightToLies #noReligion

62   Patrick   2016 Jul 14, 10:23pm

yeah dan, you're right, we need to ban all religion because christians and jews and hindus and buddhists and sikhs drive trucks into crowds too! and they murder people in cafes who can't recite the bible or some other holy text! and they blow themselves up in crowds to murder as many non-believers as they can! damn christians and jews and hindus and buddhists and sikhs!

oh wait, they don't.

only muslims do those things. islam has a near-monopoly among all religions on insane violence against random unarmed civilians. that's a simple statement of fact.

all of latin america was oppressed and as impoverished as muslim countries, but the worst we saw out of them was the shining path and a few marxist groups and drug lords killing rivals and informers.

islam alone among all ideologies or religions consistently motivates the murder of random innocent people all around the world. more specifically, the problem is the wahabi islam we generously fund every time we put gas in our car.

No they don't. But they do elect leaders (W) who start unprovoked wars in which hundreds of thousands die, and the lives of millions are screwed for generations. They deny scientific facts that can have catastrophic consequences for the entire human race.

Who do you think caused more misery, the people who committed the massacre in France, or the people responsible for the Libyan fiasco? And while the former are demonized (rightfully so!), the latter are respected members of our society. My point here is that one should be cautious not to loose perspective on things. In the case of terrorism, the consequences of religious fanatism are obvious. However, there are other expressions of religious fanatism, or even devotion, that may have much more devastating, yet not as dramatic consequences.

You are losing tract of the intent. Let's say group A are given full power to create whatever world they want. Now say that group B is given full power to realize their project...
In which world would you rather live: a democratic opened society or a muslim theocracy under Shariah law?

Allies also killed a lot of Germans in WW2, bombed entire cities, are you saying we should not have done it and let the 3rd Reich endure?

Unfortunately, it isn't that simple. There has been a decades long proxy war in Kashmir. The best way to choke them off is financially. The tide is starting to turn for India, in that the US is starting to view them as a strategically more important partner in South Asia than Pakistan.
