If youre like most American citizens, youve probably already personally confronted the place on the President Donald Trump love-hate spectrum that is opposite of yours. It may involve friends, family, coworkers, and even strangers.

Look at the reactions of school age children all over the country with the tacit support of their teachers--classes dismissed, ten year olds crying about the outcome--I'm sure a lot of this comes from the parents as well but you can be sure the teachers overwhelmingly sympathize with them.

Just as I expected. You can't give me any details of what these terrible beliefs are of the liberal establishment has indoctrinated the youth with. What is it ? Common sense ? Manners ? Logic ? An appreciation of fact based reasoning? Instead you want to talk about their cry baby reaction to Trump's election. If you saw Trump the way that most well adjusted healthy objective people see him, you would be terrified too. Even my republican friends that voted for him as a vote against Hillary, hate the guy, can't stand anything about him and totally understand why so many intelligent people are terrified.

P N Dr Lo R says

I don't believe it's an exaggeration.

Then stop acting like a moron and educate me ! Give me something more than emotion backed empty assertions. Please, I mean it. it should be possible to fucking describe it. Going on and on about the propaganda and the programming of our youth without a substantive description of what the misguided bleifs they are being programmed with means that you sir are the one that it totally 100% full of shit.

I think you even know it. Otherwise you would come up with an answer. All I need area couple examples of the most very worst and most damaging beliefs that these lefties are programming our youth with.

14   anonymous   2017 Jan 17, 9:14pm

Quit fucking asking these Simple Simon Fucks for details, marcus. You're going to #trigger a bunch of meltdowns.

The only Trumptard here with a brain is TrumpsDickLips, and even he picks and chooses what he will defend.

You will never, EVER get any details. But that's usually true from your ilk as well. Once you skim past the surface, the complexities scare off any discussion. People just want to root home their team in peace

Not really. If you read the OPs article it's all about how kids are supposedly programmed with left wing propaganda in our public schools. I want to know what that means.

If you want me to describe right wing propaganda, I would be happy to, but we have countless examples on this forum that regurgitate it all the time. Including even Patrick. I would take me hours, but coming up with some key examples would be easy. But you're not completely wrong about this:.

A good indicator of the lack of symmetry is comedy central, such as what Jon Stewart used to do. Does anyone really think that a similar level of satire could be done poking fun of the left side as what can be done poking fun of the dishonesty and scumbagger on the right ?

16   anonymous   2017 Jan 17, 9:29pm

Yes, really.

You claimed that people don't want to know what prices are wrt healthcare.

I've (attempted to) discuss with depth, plenty of issues with people from all walks of life, and time again, I see that as you delve into complexities, most people just aren't capable of carrying the conversation any further.

People are simple. Right and left leaning people. And the issues oftentimes are genuinely complex. That rarely stops simple people from trying, lol

17   marcus   2017 Jan 17, 9:36pm

You are right that some things are complex. But if someone is going to write 11 paragraphs about how our youth are so incredibly programmed by our public schools to be liberals, they should at least be able to cite some significant detailed examples of what this means. Instead, it's all emotion and empty assertions.

Somehow these don't seem to be well adjusted, healthy, objective people:

They send out emails, set up hotlines and self-help-groups after the election

There are isolated cases of this. But you have to realize, this was the "grab them by the pussy," "they're rapists" guy. How is that our president ? If you're Latino, or even have friends or friends of friends that are undocumented, of course they were freaking out after the election.

Maybe somehow Trump will shake things up for the better. But more likely it's going to be a freak show just like his campaign was. The guy has no class and no self control or self discipline. But I don't tell students my opinion. Well, I told a few that asked before the election, but in fairly mild terms compared to what I really think.

You hear a story of one major university that cancelled an exam or cancelled a class, and you infer that this is happening in public school everywhere. There were some students that walked out one day (didn't even come in so that they could protest). But I'm aware of no teachers that encouraged that.

So talking about the reaction of some kids to the election ? That's all you've got to describe the leftist programming they've recieved their whole lives ?

If you and your child think that:

- Russia is not a threat, and the 80s want their foreign policy back - you might be regressive.
- If you want to normalize relations with Cuba, while the dissadents get thrown back into the gulag - you might be regressive.
- If you dont mind, that during the last 8 years, that drug use such as herioin, crack have gone up, and the president and MSM ignored this, actually stating the POTHEADUS used pot in college - you might be regressive
- If you think its OK to have 19 states with the #1 employer as Walmart, while you say that "These good paying jobs are not coming back to the US", - you might be regressive.

In short, when Kennedy said "ask what you can do for your country", he represented the last progressive democrat president, even as he funded NASA which lead to all sorts of technology, semiconductors, and innovation.

Whatever happened to a party that used to be progressive - that now is so regressive that they dont even see their sufferage?

THey are the complement or counterpoint to a political right that is too far to the right and has their head too far up the asses of the plutocracy and corporations.

What we have is basically a far right wing and a less right wing party and a small few actual progressives in congress.

Entitlemented says

while you say that "These good paying jobs are not coming back to the US"

I don't say that, but I have enough common sense to understand that tarrifs or other trade policies don't bring us back high paying jobs. Besides decent manufacturing jobs have been and will continue to be replaced more by technology than by slave labor in china.

If you think that after 30 years of globalization, a political sensation (Trump) who manages to get a bunch of idiots to believe he's going to stimulate a lot of growth of high paying jobs for low skilled workers, you're a gullible idiot. Everyone wishes we had more high paying jobs in this country, but that's not what being progressive means.

You can't elect some asshole and feel that he will save you just because says everything he knows you were hoping to hear. That expectation is not the mindset of a responsible adult.

You must do something yourself other than work and check out.

The LCD on either side of aisle does this; not strictly a conservative/right wing problem by any stretch of imagination

If youth are being "programmed" so easily at will, probably an indicator that parents aren't really doing their job and making excuses

The US in the past found itself in a similar condundrum of political corruption, of national malinvestment. A couple of "progressive" leaders dropped their "politics" for the sake of their "principles".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_Era

We need leaders to drop their "politics" and get back to "principles". The Saul Alinsky model of divisiveness did not work.

I wonder if it is the family system. Back until a few decades or a century ago, people had multiple kids that had to work from an young age and always had to fend for themselves. Now most have 1 or 2 , have welfare, social nets, cna live with their parents and do nothing and just enjoy life. Absent drive, ambition and fear of falling down and having no safety net-they become lefties-envious of people who succeed-while living off them.

This is why everyone in Junior High should take a course on European History circa 1914 to 1920 to see how the leftist Bolsheviks built up their influence to take over Russia, which lead to > 10 Million deaths. It 2017 now, and the Bolsheviks anniversary is upon us.

One semester was a course covering Communism/Socialism and the second semester was a course covering American Government/Economics

I have no objection to that, so long as the teacher/prof doesn't proselytize for one over the other--the results should speak for themselves in the way we get to live in this country.

When I recently looked at the current curriculum on line - those courses are long gone.

At this time, a course on civics may need to return to the curriculum.

Because if all the graduates think that their humanities and arts degrees are going to lead to sustainable lifestyle, a revolution will be upon us.

Republicans greatest fear:

That outsourcing will impoverish the middle class, and block any chance of upward mobility.

Dems greatest fear: That their liberal arts, lawyers, professors, contracts people, and make work jobs will dissappear, and the government/union jobs might at some point have less funding due to the reduced receipts from public section jobs that are manned/womanned by non-dems.
