For the past 2 weeks, 538/CNN/NYTimes/VOX/WaPO were claiming Ossoff was up by 2 to 7 points in all of their polls leading up to today's conclusion. Ossoff spent $23,000,000 in this campaign making it the most expensive U.S House contest in history. Lots of leftist hollywood liberal money, and of course from Democrat daddy, Soros.

But it wasn't enough. The #FakeNews polls, and $23 million all went down the drain as Handel is expected to win easily with most of the vote tallied in Georgia 6.

I can't wait until 2018 and 2020 when the Democrats wonder why their referendum, and "blue wave" never materialized.

Republican Karen Handel staved off a furious challenge from Democrat Jon Ossoff on Tuesday in a race to represent a suburban Atlanta seat in Congress, as the GOP and President Donald Trump avoided defeat in the most expensive U.S. House contest in history.

A former Georgia secretary of state, Handel emphasized her experience and roots in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District to defeat Ossoff and keep a seat that’s long been held by Republicans in GOP hands. She becomes Georgia’s first female Republican member of the U.S. House.

Please, keep putting these idiots like Kathy Griffin, Trevor Noah, Don Lemon Jr, Jake Tapper, Cuomo, Schumer, and Pelosi on Live TV. They are the best PR campaign for the Republican party yet.

"Yeah they had it about right. Ossof as the winner, actually loses by 4 points. Yup, just about right. "

Wow, I would have expected you could at least read. RCP average was Handel winning.

Only saved by one poll from Trafalgar Group which was the most recent but least weighted poll in their running average.

Like I said, fakenews.

Yes, you've certainly said that. Unfortunately, it just makes you look foolish.

Bottom line, running against the President isn't working for Democrats. I suggest acknowledging three truths that should be self-evident to any Democrat:
1) Pence is worse than Trump;
2) Islam is worse than Pence;
3) since Obamneycare hit with full force in 2014, Americans are paying more and dying sooner.
If you can acknowledge those three, then you can see a way forward:
1) draft legislation consistent with the good things that candidate Trump said during the campaign;
2) denounce Islam, and draft legislation
a) to prosecute accessories to terrorism including those who attempt to profit as intended beneficiaries;
b) to stop hijrah
3) draft legislation to replace Obamneycare with something better, along the lines of what candidate Trump campaigned on.
The reason Democrats have not done any of those things is because the DNCe want more Petrodollar kickbacks including via both MICs, e.g. the Clintons' Saudi and corporate clients. If Democrats prefer to win, they can, but not by trying to make Pence President, and certainly not by spreading Islam. Stoking fear to the point of hysteria backfires when the other side turns out not to be nuclear Hitler after all. Try offering a better deal with better policies.

Yes I noticed that with the "traditional" GOP voter base, Trump did horribly, worse than Romney. He lost counties in Texas that Romney won, and also barely won midwest counties that he should have won by 10+ points. In my old area, Orange County, they voted blue for the first time in 60+ years.

Conversely he also flipped 200+ Democrat counties to GOP. Weird right?

My best guess is that Trump got the vote of screwed-over blue collar workers. In TX, blue collar workers are doing well so Trump had less appeal + he is a damn Yankee. In Midwest these people are hurting, so they voted for the protest candidate and handed him the victory. Trump lost Fort Bend county near Houston which has voted for Democrats...never before (at least since 1970's).

Remarkably, this may be what the beginning of a unifying process looks like. Democrats must create a better strategy which will attract voters, and frankly, so do some Republicans. I would expect greater movement from the Democrats as they have suffered massive losses over the last years....to the point where we risk becoming a 1 party system, which would be very bad. I'm waiting for the 1st politician to run on the notion of term limits, or some other sure single issue win.

That's a good theory. Makes a lot of sense. I would add the 8 years of making white people the villain also didn't help.

Don't believe the fake news:

Republicans did about 30 pts worse in June than in Nov.

But they still won, despite all the McCarthyist Democrats turning out in droves to stop Orangehitler.

Also, Handel won by 5 pts in a district that only went for Trump by around 1.5%

Handel won by about 3.8 points by running away from Trump. Which was smart. It's a +9 Republican district so she played toward old Republican ideas. And Republicans did a great job of getting out their vote. When reports were out about turnout being very high--that was actually bad news for Dems as it meant the Reps got their vote out as well.

46   MisdemeanorRebel   2017 Jun 21, 11:57am

Right,it was only national news about Trumps pro-Handel tweets, right?

Ossoff ran away from Trump Bashing and still lost.

Meanwhile, at CNN:

You mean to tell me Rosie O'Donnell helping Osoff did nto sway the election his favor?

Also, Congrats to Handel, the first GA Congresswoman.

Linda Sarsour

Amazing to remember that less than a year ago, the White House website had a whole page praising that Sharia advocate as a "champion", even after she called Sharia "reasonable" and said it "makes a lot of sense", and advocated violence including sexual mutilation against Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Democrats' plans regarding feminism seem to have drifted from equality to Islam.

"Democrats Seethe After Georgia Loss: ‘Our Brand Is Worse Than Trump’"

Perhaps in 2018, veiled "Champion" Linda Sarsour will ride a camel to Democrats' rescue, ululating in celebration of hijrah, and toss around more Petrodollar baksheesh with registered foreign agent Tony Podesta (D-KSA) and his brother John.

54   Goran_K   2017 Jun 21, 4:24pm

You laugh, but that is not that far beyond the realm of possibility these days.

56   HEY YOU   2017 Jun 21, 4:49pm

I've been outside most of the day. Came in a few minutes ago & the Right is having a ball saying the Democrats are 0 for 4 & I'm loving it. The dumb Democrats choose to remain dumb by doing the same old crap over & over.
Democrats should no longer be called a political party. "Social club" would be a much better description.
"Too Bad" as they pat each on the back & congratulate each other for a good effort.. "We'll get 'em next time."

57   HEY YOU   2017 Jun 21, 5:09pm

Just stumbled onto this.
"The record spending by Democrats in Georgia stands in sharp contrast to how the Democratic party and its various committees and PACs funded special elections in Kansas and Montana earlier this year, when progressive candidates championed by Sanders received little financial support -- but unlike Ossoff, finished ahead of expectations."
Two words for the Stupid Democrats that can't be said enough,
Bernie Sanders!

"While political observers turned the Georgia race into an early referendum on the Donald Trump administration, the race’s result will further complicate the struggle inside the Democratic Party, still deeply divided about how to move forward after historic defeats in November that gave the Republicans the White House, both chambers of Congress and 32 state legislatures."
"Can't fix stupid!"

Pisses me off when bleeding heart liberals are too retarded to see a winning strategy.
65 million? voted Democrat but I couldn't get one to openly & aggressively BOYCOTT all Republicans.
I would be as hard on a Democratic Administration as the Republican fubar.

WTF is wrong with Trump? Speaking in Iowa just now, in the opening, he said Iowa is home to some great wrestlers.
