Just so you know, government in partnership with corporations own your ass. Wake up man!!
The government is NOT in partnership with corporations. Corporations own a good percentage of the lawmakers lock, stock, and barrel. You didn't get the memo? Wake up man!!
Should Nazi's be kicked off the internet
Define Nazi. Is a Nazi someone who calls himself a Nazi or someone who pushes the Nazi agenda while calling it family values and calling himself a republican?
Usage of the public airwaves. You didn't know that? What does this have to do private companies deciding how to run their business? Zero.
You realize the internet was a government invention and the fiber optic cable lines were almost entirely paid for by the taxpayer, right?
It's actually MORE valid for the government to protect free speech on the Internet, since the Government didn't build the atmosphere or the antennae of radio or tv stations to transmit over it.
Very interesting you left out Sinclair, Murdoch, etc.. Conservative media owners don't bother you? No of course not.
Murdoch bothers me plenty - and especially his sons and their wives, who are total Economist Neoliberal Globalist types.
Contradict yourself much? You want the US government to pass laws saying what private companies should do with their customers which would be good but German and Chinsese laws telling private companies what to do with their customers are bad. Sorry dude you can't have it both ways.
Bob, let me get this straight:
The US Government prohibiting US companies from cutting off people's speech is the same as Germany and China getting US companies to cut off people's speech.
Or that monopolistic US Companies can arbitrarily ban some Users and Sites for some speech but not other users and Sites for some speech that also clearly violates the TOS.
I think most people can tell the difference and spot the problem.
I'd say no. First, I'm guessing it's easier to track them off they are in the open. Second, even if private companies do dns, the internet is a public good and has to remain free. Third, as Dan says, who gets to decide what is acceptable? It can't just be whatever makes business sense.
The left simply hates the Constitution. The 1st and 2nd amendment are something leftist would gut today if they could.
I believe now that the left is far more dangerous than any enemy faced by the US. Imperial Japan, the Soviets, radical Islam (an ally of the left) are nothing compared to the internal enemy that leftist represent.
abusive attacks on other users. The same applies to trolling, the use of multiple aliases, or just generally being a jerk. Enforcement of this policy is at the sole discretion of the site administrators and repeat offenders may be blocked or permanently banned without warning.Disqus

You realize that airwaves are a limited commodity legally considered public sector that is allocated to companies willing to follow the rules set up in the public interest and bandwidth has no practical limits other than the amount of spending right? Why does who paid have any bearing on scarcity of resources which is the issue. Try to focus. I'm sorry if this is a hard concept for you.

Get it straight? I can't even translate it to english. What the hell are you saying? Companies can ban whoever they want. The first amendment doesn't apply. Sorry the law of the land as confirmed many times by the supreme court doesn't work for you. Maybe try your luck in some other country.

Yep. But the Taxpayer paid for pretty much the entire core fiber optic infrastructure, and the basic protocols behind the internet. Including the HTML/Browser idea, which was invented via Taxpayers of many nations funding CERN. Dan is a big fan of Tim Berners Lee, the employee of this taxpayer funded multinational project.
We also fund the airports, maybe we should let the airlines discriminate as to which passengers they'll take based wholly on their beliefs.
You're basically saying people can be kicked off an entire medium if a handful of companies don't like what they say. It already happened to Stormfront.
It's hilarious you put up a Diner Sign supporting racial discrimination. "You can't be discriminated against for your skin color, only if you have a very unpopular idea."
Bob, are you a liberal or a member of the #AltLeft? You can't even be a Progressive if you don't acknowledge monopolies need to be reigned in.
They should also kick out left wing media inciting stupidity and violence among the left... mother jones, daily beast, and other bullshit sites. That would be a nice compromise, unconstitutional, but beneficial.
I wouldn't worry about anyone getting kicked off the internet. There's always a work around and in the end the "kicker" always seems to come out with the short end of the stick and the "kickee" gains a bigger fan base.. so fuck 'em.

This goes back to the more vengence than good tactics aspect of this #NaziSatanicPanic #AltLeft #MoralPanic. Banning something will make it cool. Making people unemployable will make them more fanatic, because now they really have an undeniable reason to "hate the system", and nothing to lose by being criminal or violent.
If there were Nazis causing trouble in a Socialist country, half a world away, would you support sending our military to combat them?
If a young male fanatic crashed his car into a pile of innocent people in A Middle East Muslin county, would you feign outrage and demand action?
So why is it that, when the same things happen on our own soil, against our own people, do you brush away concern, as fringe AltLeft hysteria?
Very odd to put country second
