It's always a great sensation when your taxes increase without a shred of services or civic improvement to show for it. You're just bailing out civil service numb nuts and politicians.
CA would do this in a heartbeat if they could for the same reason.
Hence Prop13. More important now than ever.
Wish I worked for the State of California or Illinois. I would have been filthy rich by now. I'm such an idiot.
Make the retirees spend 12 hours a day in one of the free fire zones. The mortality will exceed 10 percent in a year and the taxes can go back to "normal usurious".

We are fast becoming a country where government employees and their unions are the new dictators. They just take what they want from us, and there's nothing we can do about it.
I propose the citizen demand government employees go on social security like everyone else. Government employees are nothing special. They don't deserve more.

Yup they are so blatant about it. A 300k salary guy who is a village manager getting pension from a 40k a year family. if the 40k a year family loses their job, they may lose their house to fund the 300k a year pension guy. People are frustrated, but hey in IL you dare challenge the public union power and they want to throw you in jail-I mean wtf??
You guys understand that the union doesn't set their own salaries. You should be mad at the school board, police board, fire board, etc. who signs these deals. Don't get mad at the guys for wanting more money--we all do. Get mad at the guys who allow it to happen
The unions birbe-err campaign contribute- to the people who set the salaries-in a legal way. The guys who allow it to happen mostly are dem politicians.
I doubt that. Look at most school boards and fire boards and police boards. They aren't Dem politicians

Who approved these massive payouts? Don't recall anyone asking me, the taxpayer, if it was OK.
Daylight robbery.

So vote for different ones then. Or run yourself--how about that crazy idea!
I always wanted to be rich, hang out with friends and call it work. Take bribes, attend lavish parties, go on fancy vacations at taxpayer expense. And hire hot secretaries that would even make Rin go insane.

Wait a second. I thought you wanted to be poor so you didn't have to pay any taxes? Which is it?

Feel a sudden but sharp pain? That’s the news that your Chicago property tax bill is shooting up 10 percent this year thanks to City Hall. The Cook County clerk’s office released calculations Tuesday that showed the tax hikes are thanks to police, fire, and teacher pension
