I'm no scientist but wouldn't compressing an entire planet create an enormous amount of heat?
Is someone claiming that the level of the oceans is not rising because rising oceans are compressing the Earth's crust?
The article says something completely different than the thread title.
I love how the "scientific" alarmist articles like in the OP go on and on about rising oceans, but no where in the article does it state, HOW MUCH.
Yes. The alarmists are trying to explain why Manhattan is not yet underwater from sea rise caused by ice melt caused by global warming which they now call climate change because the temp stopped rising.
Got it?
I never said it's being compressed, like you are dishonestly trying to lead the OP. I said the force of the weight ontop of pushes the water on the seafloor into the Earths Crust.
To say it's compressed would say the water never goes anywhere just keeps getting more compressed in the can, and trapped by the compression of the weight of the Ocean which is not what I suggested at all. If that were to happen rivers, lakes and aquifers around the world would dry up.

There are thousands of articles that state how much. Try NOAA for a start.
The alarmists? What alarmists?
