If you are looking at it that way, the town got enriched by keeping the $10,000 bail money.
"Following his arrest on rape charges, ICE issued an immigration detainer to the Weymouth Police Department for Frederick Amfo, a citizen and national of Ghana unlawfully present in the U.S. That detainer should have followed the alien as he transferred from the Quincy Court House. The court chose not to forward the detainer to Norfolk County, allowing for his subsequent release on bail from custody," Mohan said in an email to Newsweek.
"Weymouth Police told the woman on Monday that Amfo posted $10,000 cash bail just before 5:30 p.m. on April 13 and fled to his home country of Ghana"

What kind of mentality did the "court" have to be worried that ICE may deport a rapist?
Americans have less rights than illegals in liberal CA.

Americans can't drive for uber, rape a customer, post bail, then the flee the country? Why not? What CA satute prevents it?
How was an illegal able to get and keep a driver's license?
How was an illegal able to pass an Uber background check?
How was it that a judge not consider an illegal arrested for rape as a flight risk, and thus post a ridiculously low bail? With a bondsman, one typically puts down 10%, which means all the rapist had to do is cough up $1,000 and buy a airline ticket.

Really? How about:

How many Rep/Cons are employing illegals today?

This. Why we do not have mandatory E-verify? Can it be introduced by executive order?
Do you actually think trump really wants low cost labor to go away? He wants a good show for the base.
This sounds like a win-win. We got to keep the bail money, and didn't have to pay to deport him.

That is my point here, rich people want semi-slave illegal labor to work in their meat packing plants/mowing their lawns for pennies, instead of hiring Americans and paying a little more.

And he can vote Democratic 50 times before he leaves.
The law needs it's diapers changed. Illegal Aliens are always a flight risk, and any bail should take that into account.

Would that be FW's imiginary law where americans have less rights that illegals?
FW has a very strong point.Illegals can always skip bail and return to their country, but an American cannot. In that sense, yes, Americans have less rights than illegals.

My passport is up to date. I can leave just as easy as any illegal. Much easier actually since most illegals don't have passports and would have to work their way back to the border to sneak across.
Allow me to rephrase my point. Illegal aliens can always evade jail by going back to their country. An American cannot do that because this is their country. This is why we need the law to take this into consideration before granting bail. Why do you disagree?

Why can't Americans flee overseas to avoid jail? There is a reason that sometimes people are required to surrender their passports as part of bail condition.
Are you really comparing a visitor who can easily leave the country and have no burden, vs an American leaving a country and destroying their life completely? How is that same to you?
Back to the original question, what takes away an american's rights to flee the country?
bob2356 saysBack to the original question, what takes away an american's rights to flee the country?
It's not a right. us citizens can’t bail on violent crimes. Illegals are allowed to go home and never face consequences

and the question STILL is what is stopping them? If Americans can't bail on violent crimes then why do judges take their passports sometimes? It really is a very simple question. Too bad shucking and ducking isn't an olympic sport.
