The reason is not because I hate their tasty burgers, it's because the line of cars at the drive-thru extends into the street and I don't want to wait 45 minutes for lunch.

Who the fuck waits in a drive through when you can park, walk in, and get served almost immediately?

Please don't link to sites that start running an ad that won't STFU and clicking on it to try to get it to STFU opens a new tab while the ad yammmers on loudly in a quiet office, and the back button takes you to a different article and won't let you escape without rapid back button presses and also opens a new instance of Firefox for a pop-out ad.

Now, what the fuck was this post supposed to be about? HOW TO PISS OFF WEBSITE USERS?

Try installing NoScript, I didn't get any adds.

I don't know if In-N-Out has run the numbers and found this works best, or if they have an attitude of "People are waiting the 45 minutes, why change?"

I've heard In-N-Out has one of the most efficient processes out there. I've never been inside, or outside of one where the food was constantly coming out. There's no amount of efficiency that will make up for having 25 orders in front of yours, especially when everything is fresh and made to order. You just have to wait.

I've never actually waited but I imagine the inside is probably just as busy or hectic. Either way, not for me.

For some reason I am a fan of Nation's burger and shakes. No long lines either....

Out here it's faster to eat inside, drive through is always much busier.

I started as In-N-Out fan long ago, when as a teenager I found out they are a Christian corporation that pays above minimum wage. Back then I could get a minimum wage job at some place that hires illegals and make minimum, or I could make double at In-N-Out. Plus just good burgers. It's just fucked up how Democrats always support any business that hires illegals by a ton, but hates every business that pays more than minimum wage. I think democrats are really screwed up assholes.

I have waited inside, and during late dinner rush the inside wait time is at least 50% of drive-through time, so plenty of opportunity to look at the flow. Their system is seriously logjammed at the grill. The veggies stay cut and ready, the potatoes don't fall behind in the peeling and 1-push cutting process, the deep fryers stand idle some of the time. It's the grill capacity bogging down the process.

They have a girl on a headset taking orders 2-3 times farther back in line than the fixed drive through speakers. Even with double lanes, it seems to take from the time they're at the speaker anyway to start their order, and a wait time for EVERY car for the order to be passed out. In their more recent builds, there is no shortage of square footage in the kitchen to line up another grill. I know they aren't cheap but probably come to 25 minutes gross revenue for a typically busy store.

Side note, you can ask for 3X3 or 4X4 (4 patties 4 cheese) but there's a corporate-wide rule against going bigger than that. It happened because someone ordered a 100X100 on a dare and attempted to eat the whole thing. Some of the patties were badly undercooked, like pink and raw. The video went viral and it looked bad, so in the name of QC Corporate made the 4 max rule.

Right? In N Out actually pays a fair wage (what Democrats CLAIM they want), but because they don't support their socialist agenda, now they want to crush their business. Fuck Democrats.

Was it really 100x100? I heard it was "only" 10x10.
30   Ceffer   2018 Aug 30, 2:16pm

The Dems demand they change their name to a more PC friendly "Front and Back Burger".
31   Shaman   2018 Aug 30, 2:56pm

A few years back we had the Chick Fil A fiasco with the gay mafia insisting on a boycott of the popular chicken sandwich shop. Their business actually increased! Now we have Democrats, sore over something as silly as not being the beneficiary of a political donation, calling for a boycott of In N Out. To which everyone says uh no.

So the moral of the story is don’t mess with fast food that people like! You will lose!
32   WookieMan   2018 Aug 30, 7:22pm

Ublock is pretty good too.

And lately I'm really enjoying Little Snitch, though it's not free:

https://www.obdev.at/products/littlesnitch/index.html

It reports and can block every connection any app tries to make, and it's alternately hilarious and horrifying just how often everything on your computer is trying to report back info about you to various companies.

Very cool, Ucla Greek system here too, class of 2004. We did In N Out in Westwood frequently. The little kiosks right past In N Out were popular too (Tommy’s, Buck-Fifty, and Gushi)

Typically hit the kiosks after drinking at some Westwood college bar like Maloney's. Somehow we used to get drunk all night for $20, then eat late night food for $6, bang a few rando's and laugh about it all the next day.

These days each drink is $15, I have to watch what I eat, and rarely bang rando's. Is this what it means to grow up? Yawn

This is what I mean by heavy handed suppression of all dissent from the leftist agenda.

Even an equal and fairly small donation to "the enemy" causes Democrats to lose it and call for a boycott. What happened to respect for the opinions of others and open-minded debate with good will? Was it ever a thing? If it was, can we return to those days somehow?
42   MisdemeanorRebel   2018 Aug 31, 11:20am

I think the answer is to slap 'em back.

The old Fredocon tactic of "Being the Better Person" didn't result in any gains, but in endless losses and retreats.

Lol, should R's also boycott?

Again, why any CEO allows politics into their business is beyond me. No way in helmet would I allow this type of distraction in my organization.

I would respond to every flaming mob of snowflakes that my employee makes good burgers and performs well at work. You caught him in a MAGA hat... yeah sorry, idc.

I don’t think it’s allowed and HR has rules against it.

Having worked in tech in the bay for nearly 15yrs, I can tell you that once the % of a political party pass some point (as it has here), people in the workplace feel very comfortable to discuss politics freely when they believe everyone shares their view. Tech in the valley is one massive safe space among liberals.

I just spent two summers in LA since the summer quarter is largely empty and I had a phi psi buddy. Amazing experience

I was talking to a guy the other week who wants to run Pi-hole on his home network. Never thought about it, but he pointed out a good chunk of our bandwidth is being taken up by spam and advertising. I was planning to make a Retro-Pi already, but this sounds like a great idea.

https://pi-hole.net/

In their documentation they have a way to setup pi-hole using VPN to block traffic for you mobile device as well, for on the go filtering.

Who cares what their policies are. I bought one Sunday at the location close to Baylor. Just got the basic patty and sauce with grilled onion and added a tomato for $2.65, was very good.
52   RWSGFY   2018 Sep 4, 12:02pm

So, how's that boycott going? Have In-n-Out filed for bancrupcy yet?
53   RC2006   2018 Sep 4, 12:42pm

The first day this came out the line was so long getting into parking lot and drive through I turned around. The drive through line was at least 30-40 cars.

Aint politics wonderful.

When are the dumb lemmings complaining about jobs and wages supporting both D and R going to do something that would make a difference and stop buying shit from overseas? Stop allowing employers to hire illegals; lower green card/work visa quotas to respond to labor market / wage range acceptability.

Double-Double animal style with fries and a chocolate shake. If I drive by long enough to smell the food, I have to get one or I'll be craving it for weeks.
57   EBGuy   2018 Sep 5, 3:58pm

Soooo... it was a fundraiser?
After calling for a boycott of In-N-Out burger last week, Bauman is now saying that there is no boycott, and that he plans to continue eating at the popular burger chain....
"Et tu In-N-Out?" he tweeted. "Tens of thousands of dollars donated to the California Republican Party . . . it's time to #BoycottInNOut - let Trump and his cronies support these creeps . . . perhaps animal style!"
The hashtag "#BoycottInNOut" was trending all day Thursday, but Bauman now says that his tweet wasn't meant to be serious.
"Are you kidding me?" Bauman said. "I'm gonna buy my staff In-N-Out burgers to celebrate our victory."
