I've tried duck duck go in the past and have found their search results irrelevant. In other words, they often refer me to a bunch of quora/spam/scraper site content. Most of it is junk and often like "10 ways to do this."
Google results are generally more relevant.
Don't get me wrong, I don't like Google tracking me, but they do a much better job at sorting relevant from irrelevant information [most of the time].
Google should be sued and forced back to put Google back to the almighty yet unintrusive search engine it was of yesteryear. So much so to the point, that the World was willing to see the doing away with of book stores and hard copy reference material. Google was at the point that it was a serious Sociology debate of the human Cognitive abilities were bing replaced by the Google Effect. They reversed course on it so bad, that the information is damn near irrelevant all because of the Left's hatred of Losing power, not to just Trump but anyone. Google would have intentionally destroyed the End users benefit of Google had it been anyone not just Trump. But that's not to say that Google on the back end is not a Despotic intrusive beast that scrapes every bit of information and every tidbit of you deepest desires then sales them to the highest bidder. All while offering the end user, a no better experience than Aji, and Excite of the late 90's.
They should be busted up their code seized, the branch from early 2015 put on Government server and made a public Utility.
Fuck those Commie Mother Fuckers they deserve nothing but Commie treatment.
Either that or reprint every book that foolishly taken out of print because we assumed Google Got this and send them the bill. So many books it they will owe just as much as they are worth now. That's about how many books these bastards robbed the world of. They made Books obsolete then pulled this shit. Second thought put them all on a rack and draw and quarter them for public delight.
Google was hitech book burning, they pulled off what Depots have been trying to do for Millennia.
Been using Duck Duck go for the past couple years. I like not being tracked. I’m not seeing my search history on ad banners anymore. The results are acceptable, and more relevant when I’m searching anything political. Google tends to censor conservative sites and opinions.

This. It's very apparent - and I'm only slowly using DDG more - that Google rigs political searches. It's shocked me several times. Even when you use 3-4 word searches that should bring up conservative websites, you get wikipedia and then Badthink Reducers, aka "Fact Checkers". Vox Libsplainers, Politfact, etc. are always near the top. I've put up examples before.
All good points and I too have been slow to adopt DDG. Tested them out a few times and didn't seem as good. Tested them the other night and it was working better. I liked the plug-ins mentioned in the article that if I read correctly help hide you online from those aholes even when you're browsing without using DDG.
I've used ghostery for years but I don't think that blocks the likes of FB, Foogle etc.
Why should I use DuckDuckGo instead of Google?

Their browser plug-ins sound worthwhile...
