Here's an interesting story about a 24-year-old guy who was unemployed, uninsured and could not afford antibiotics for a toothache -- and then died when the infection spread.

We all could have had national healthcare had Franklin Roosevelt lived, it would be part of what he called the "Second Bill of Rights." If it sounds like a bad idea, ask this guy's daughter if the cost of treating an infected tooth is worth more than the loss of a parent.
