I disagree, while it may not be as easy, the opportunities still exist. Choice, study the books or hit the streets looking for crack and hoes.
It's the dumb parents, dumb leaders, and dangerous role models like the rap music about killing cops who are at fault.

Most suburbanites choose to 'study the books' in a 2500 sqft vacuumed palace surrounded by ipads, ipods, with the smell of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies permeating the air along with the 10lb prime rib on the barbie that dad is attending to whilst the brothers and sisters chuckle over a monopoly match on the oak paneled living room floor in air conditioned comfort.
Most ghetto dwellers choose to reload their magazines in a 650 sqft dustbucket shithole, surrounded by dime bags and bloodied needles, with the smell of outdated burning pig intestines permeating the air along with the 10lb carphead on the patio weber that no one is attending to whilst the Sistahoes and Brothagangstas chuckle over the days haul of swisher sweets on the rat infested shit embedded living room floor in a cesspool of carpet embedded fermenting orgasmic ooze, while everyone ignores the constant background gunfire.
The opportunities exist, but they are night as day different.

Police in Ferguson had mistakenly arrested a man before the Michael Brown shooting and, after realizing, proceeded to beat him up in a holding cell and then charge him with destruction of property for bleeding on their uniforms, it has been claimed.
Henry Davis, 52, had missed his turn off for the Missouri city of St. Charles during heavy rain late at night on September 20, 2009, pulling over about 20 miles away in Ferguson.
While waiting for the rain to clear about 3am, a patrol officer ran Davis' plates and arrested him on an outstanding warrant - however it was the wrong Henry Davis.
The wanted man had a different middle name and Social Security number, but Davis, a welder, said the officer cuffed him and put him into a patrol car without explanation, The Daily Beast reported.
