It's official, the DNC lost the election because they screwed over Bernie supporters

NPR: 12% of Bernie supporters voted for Trump
Schaffner's numbers show that after a bitter Democratic primary, more than 1 in 10 of those who voted in the primaries for the very progressive Sanders ended up voting for the Republican in the general election, rather than for the Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton.

Newsweek: Bernie Sanders Voters Helped Trump Win and Here's Proof
Bernie Sanders supporters switched their allegiance to Donald Trump in large enough numbers last November to sway the election for the real estate billionaire, according to an analysis of voter data released Tuesday by the blog Political Wire.

12 Percent of Bernie Voters Voted for Trump, 8% for Jill Stein
As it turns out, Russian interference may not have been reason why President Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election--it was the fact that more than one out of 10 people who voted for Bernie Sanders in the primary ended up voting for Trump in the general election. According to the 2016 Cooperative Congressional Election Survey, fewer than 80 percent of Sanders primary voters voted for Clinton in the general.

Of the non-Clinton voters, 12 percent voted for Trump, and eight percent went for a third-party candidate such as the Green Party's Jill Stein.

Vox: The Bernie voters who defected to Trump, explained by a political scientist
About 12 percent of Bernie Sanders supporters from the Democratic primary crossed party lines and voted for Donald Trump in the general election, a new analysis says.

In several key states — Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan — the number of Sanders to Trump defectors were greater than Trump’s margin of victory, according to new numbers released Wednesday by UMass professor Brian Schaffner.

So there you have it. Hillary Clinton did not lose the election because of Benghazi, Russia, the private email server, or any of the other scandals under her belt. She lost the election because the DNC gave a big fuck you to all the voters in general election in order to nominate their royal next in line. Americans do not want a monarchy. We do not want the throne to be handed down along family lines. We wanted Bernie Sanders and we could not be coerced into accepting Hillary as the lesser of two evils.

20% of Bernie Sanders voted against Hillary Clinton in the election. Countless more didn't vote because of the DNC's corrupt actions. Key swing states went Trump because of this. The change in votes was greater than the Trump margin of victory in those states. There is absolutely NO doubt that Trump won the election solely because Hillary was nominated over Bernie. This is the painful lesson the DNC and the leftist media must learn, and must learn soon, or Trump will be a two-term president. Don't play chicken with the American people.

We will no longer be scared into voting for whatever fucking democrat, no matter how repulsive, the DNC throws at us simply to avoid the alternative. We're OK with the alternative. If Rome must burn to save it, then let it burn. We'll rebuild, and in the mean time, we'll play the fiddle. You don't want Rome to burn, stop dousing it with gasoline.

The entire problem with the DNC can be summed up like this. What we got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last election, which is the way the DNC wants it. Well, they gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.

Hopefully, this will clear that failure to communicate before Trump becomes a two-term president.

#Fact

I've always understood exactly why Trump was elected president, even though others have offered up other nonsense

The Media and the DNC corroborated to spoil Bernie, because the Oligarchy knew that Bernie was the only real threat. They love that so many rubes are carrying Trumps water

They absolutely did. I don't have any articles or graphs to prove my point, but so many democrats I personally know were completely dejected by the collusion revealed by that project veritas thing, and everything that came after. The icing on the cake was when Bernie told his supporters to vote Hillary after people in his own party blindsided his campaign. He really has no credibility anymore because he doesn't have respect for himself.

Hope they are happy with their decision.
Too bad that these Trump voters didn't have a write-in line on their ballot.
Voting for Republicans or Democrats is absolute genius!

"What we got here is failure to communicate."
Retards can't be blamed for their retardism.

I will vote for the Anti-Christ before a D /R.

I'm sure they were pleased that the rubes were also carrying obama's, bush's, and clinton's water too.

As much as I dislike Trump, his election is probably positive compared to having Clinton in White House. Perhaps Washington establishment will understand that they can not weasel in anyone they want. As Moore said, Trump is the biggest hand grenade Mary Blow and Joe Blow threw into the political process, which long ago has stopped representing the voters.

Could Bernie Sanders have won the 2016 election?

Obama’s message of “Hope and Change” inspired a nation caught in the throes of recession and war. Sanders’ message of inequality addressed the fears of millennials and struggling families. Sanders was another version of Obama. This observation leads to a question: Could Sanders have defeated Donald Trump?

National mood: Americans were unsettled in 2016. They had lost faith in traditional leaders and were open to electing someone different. Political (especially Congress) and economic (especially Wall Street) leaders were considered out of touch. Sanders addressed this mood in ways that Clinton could not.

Aspirational vs. transactional leadership: Sanders and Obama pursued aspirational rather than transactional politics.

Aspirational politics focus on goals that are great and larger than the individual.

Transactional politics involve horse-trading between politicians and supplicants. Sanders’ genius was his ability to get voters to think in terms of the commonweal. Voters perceived Clinton as transactional. Sanders spoke to voters’ aspirations, while Clinton’s scripted message to identity groups was couched in transactional terms.

Voting: Sanders outperformed Clinton in the three Democratic states — Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania — that put Trump over the top. Political scientist Brian Schaffner analyzed data from a survey of 64,600 Americans conducted by the Cooperative Congressional Election Survey in fall 2016. Schaffner estimates that 12 percent of Sanders voters switched to vote for Trump.

Political scientist G. Elliot Morris found that 51,000 Sanders supporters voted for Trump in Wisconsin, 47,000 Sanders voters supported Trump in Michigan and 114,000 Sanders voters supported Trump in Pennsylvania. Trump won by 22,000 votes in Wisconsin, 10,000 votes in Michigan and 44,000 votes in Pennsylvania. Clinton lost the election because she was unable to hold onto Sanders voters.

Democratic National Committee: Leaked DNC emails show party officials discussing ways to rig rules to favor Clinton. This bias led Sanders supporters to sue the DNC. Federal Judge William Zloch found that the DNC and party chair Debbie Wassermann Schultz “held a palpable bias in favor of Clinton and sought to propel her ahead of her Democratic opponent.” Clinton also enjoyed an overwhelming and unfair advantage with super delegates.

Barack Obama and Bernie Sanders were the strongest Democratic candidates in 2008 and 2016, respectively. While we have no way of knowing if Sanders would have defeated Trump, spring 2017 polling data show Sanders with the highest favorability rating (+22 Harris-Harvard; +24 CNN) of all politicians.

How different the world would be if Bernie Sanders were president.

The General Election can't be rigged.

Take care of the primaries and it doesn't matter who is in the General.

Neoliberal Oligarchs are just as happy with a Jeb! or with a Hillary.

If Bernie were nominated, then without doubt...
1. Bernie would have won the general election.
2. Trump would have been another footnote in history of failed joke candidates.
3. The Supreme Court position would have been filled with a true liberal, not a leftist and certainly not a fascist.
4. The Democrats would have more seats in both the Senate and the House.
5. More Democrats would have won governorship races.

If Bernie had been nominated, then probably...
6. The Democrats would control both the Senate and the House.
7. Medicare for all would replace the failed Obamacare.
8. The U.S. would have entered the Paris Agreement and the whole world, yes including China, would be cooperating to mitigate climate change, which in turn would have been much better for our economy.

This is why there are superdelegates and closed meeting conventions and plenty of dirty party tricks available to oligarchs so they can subvert the will of the people before the general election! That way we get a choice between the usual shit sandwich or turd flambé.
All as the Founding Fathers intended I'm sure....

Another wrong statement by the conservative right. I'm beginning to think that the conservative right is physically incapable of making a correct statement.
