An Indian-American (South Asian, not Native American) is saying that AOC is just a white mediterranean woman

Yes, this South Asian person has been called a 'darkie' by ppl around him in the Carolinas, for half of his life, prior to moving to Boston.

From this person's perspective and I concur with him, AOC is just another white Mediterranean woman, complaining about being an oppressed woman of color, because her last name is Cortez and thus is not ...

Alexandria Cornelia (Italian)
Alexandria Cortekis (Greek)
Alexandria Corteian (Armenian)
Alexandria Cortenika (Slavic)

As none of the aforementioned Mediterranean women can claim 'oppressed' POC status and play the victim card in politics.

So we agree. AOC is using a Spanish surname, which an Armenian-American can't do, to claim oppression despite having fair-to-light tanned skin.

Sure, it's a great scam. Come over from Europe, establish Spaniards at the top of the caste system. Indians die off from disease. Generations go by, affirmative action and white guilt take hold in North America which opens the door to claim that you, too, are a member of the native poplation that you plundered, tortured and mutilated. Yes, the Spaniards were the worst. Marco Rubio is a perfect example. Family has been in the New World for generations, and include slave owners, but he is a Latino and Hispanic, and also white, but ony if he says he is (self declaration), but his DNA says he is nonetheless. Many surviving natives have had it drilled into their heads that to be an Indian is to be a stupid loser, and so they jump at the chance as well to provide minority cover for the scam. If only Warren claimed to be an Indian from south of the border, she might be president today.

There is no Anglic group that includes the English, Irish, folks from India and from former English colonies. Nor is there a Francic group that includes North American Indians from former Fremnch territory, blacks from former French colonies like Haiti, and descendants of the French colonists. Just the Spaniards. Go figure.

Actually, in today's United States, the definition of the word, Hispanic, has nothing to do with race. It's about language.

In other words, if one's ancestors were from Spain but not from Portugal, Gibraltar, Morocco, Sardinia/Corsica/mainland Italy, Malta, Albania, Yugoslavia, and Greece, you're Hispanic but the others, are white, no different than someone whose grandparents came from Britain, Denmark, or Sweden. How is that fair and equitable?

If America doesn't like 'olive skin' then just say it.

If I'm an 'olive skin' South American and I'm oppressed like coach Vince Lombardi, an Italian-American, who wasn't allowed into a North Carolina restaurant with the vaunted Green Bay team because the restaurant owner thought he was half-black coach, back in the Jim Crow early 60s ...

then make that one's point!

Quite incorrect. Look no farther than the poilce using it to describe suspects. It has to do with Spanish Indian features, but frequently Indians with mustaches, a nod to their Spanish overlords. There is no comparable "ethnicity" that includes white Europeans, Indians, blacks, etc.

That's for the police, who need easy labels like 'Mestizo-looking', 'Oriental', etc, I'm talking about political and academic 'white' Hispanics who use that label to trump other ppl.

If AOC robbed a store, the cops would arrest AOC, calling her a white Greek/Italian women in custody over the radio.

The guy "Iron Eyes Cody" who played the famous crying Indian...

... 100% Sicilian... raised in New Orleans. He tried to claim he was, but his sister said both their parents were from there. Later, birth certificate confirmed it.

And that's a part of my whole thread.

That South Indian-American guy, who was called a darkie in the Carolinas growing up, never had another option.

You see, unlike A.O.C, he couldn't tell everyone that he was oppressed (for having a Spanish last name, despite someone like A.O.C having fair skin like anyone else from Italy/Greece/Armenia) and thus, needing a scholarship to get a BS in Accounting, as a result of being a Hispanic, an African-American, or a Native-American.

Instead, this South Indian took out loans, etc, to finish his degree, to launch his career in Boston, outside of that 'racist' Carolina upbringing.

And this is why he's not moved by A.O.C's bullshit. When he sees her, he sees a white Mediterranean woman, not a woman of color. In fact, Bollywood would be happy to recruit A.O.C as some half-Persian/Indo-Aryan person in some romantic drama instead of some dark woman from Tamil South to portray what a fair skin woman should look like.

Indians are calling it mullahwood. And I would prefer you use that term.

Absolutely. But the academic institutions are on board with the scam. Spansh surname, and you are a minority. It's a better scam than Warren pulled off, although Harvard lapped up her bogus American Indian claim. No one is asking to see DNA test results. Claiming to be a Spanish Indian is much safer, as there are no tribal registers that could prove to be your undoing, as with Warren, if anybody bothered to check.

Little brown girl or little white girl?

All you need is a mailstop.

I know of a Chinese family from Peru, who used the Hispanic label for college and jobs because their nation of origin was in South America. And no, with a last name like "Chang", most ppl who're not brain dead know that they're Asian-American.

Yes, so there are these Juanita Cho, Raul Ming, & Carlos Wen who're outsmarting the Asian-American quota.

One more point on this whole thing ...

The South Indian guy grew up in the Carolinas and was subjected to terms like Darkie, Ragu (?), the N-word, the Sand N-word, Hindu demon worshipper, etc.

In contrast, A.O.C. grew up in a Hispanic majority borough of the Bronx, where in effect, she's among the lightest 15% of her cohort. How is this oppression?

I would even guess that Boston University (BU) offered her an 80%+ scholarship to attend. I asked someone at BU's admin about full rides and today, if you're not number 1 to 5 in your graduating class with perfect SATs, No Way Jose! You're taking out loans! Those full scholarships are to steal ppl away from the Yales, the NYUs, the Georgetowns, to get out of college with no debt and take out those loans for let's say, Columbia Law School, later on in life.

Unfortunately, the only decent photo of AOC's boobage is her BU shirt.

While a nice pic, it doesn't say much about BU as an academic institute.
