Not sure if this has been brought up and I was too lazy to find the Patnet suggestions thread. I'm a little burned out on still seeing stuff from covid. I simply don't care anymore. It would be nice if there was a hide option/button that puts threads in a place that you click on at the top, something like "hidden" but you would no longer see those threads on the patrick.net home page. In the section with unread, views and news at the top.

There are occasionally other threads/topics that just bore me and are super active. I see them everyday and I feel like I'm missing better content and I could filter those threads out with a "hide" feature. You could still find the threads from that top link I mention if I was to say hear something big about covid that I could still see those threads and sorted by the most active of your hidden threads.

Just an idea. Not sure if anyone agrees, just throwing it out. New threads on covid you would still see, but if you're uninterested in the old ones they go in that hidden bin so to speak.

Yes! We can call it the "ostrich" feature. It will allow us to ignore any inconvenient truths.

You can go back to the threads though was my point. It's not about ignoring specific users or topics forever. It's just the topic go away from your home screen. You can always check in later. I don't know how it is out in CA, but covid basically doesn't even exist where I'm at. I was done with it after a month. There's 10 different covid threads on the home page everyday.

The other thing is threads go sideways and turn into bad arguments and stay active on the homepage for months. I don't want to ignore anyone and I feel like people have good and bad takes. I just don't want to see people go back and forth everyday and no one admits they're right or wrong. Or updating multiple threads with same information.

Patrick doesn't have to do it. Things like covid I'll still hear about in the news. Was just a suggestion. Not burying the head in the sand.

The reason covid shouldn't be forgotten, is that they basically just poisoned the population.

Saying you don't want to read about covid anymore, it's kind of like saying you want to forget the US brought back slavery to Libya and left it in civil war by bombing it to prevent a humanitarian crisis.

Don't follow the bullshit "stories" that is fed out of the television. They are distractions.

Having said that, I don't see anything wrong with an "ignore a topic" feature or a thread feature. I have wanted this myself, and I think I suggested it, when FarmersWon kept posting about "Hindooos". It's not a subject I'm familiar with, and it's not anything I can do anything about. Learning about the situation from a single person isn't useful to me because I shouldn't be involved even if I was convinced there was an ongoing atrocity.

Not me or my kids. And they won't. I know people that have tested positive 2-3 times already. It was nothing myself twice. Just don't take the vaccine.

It's not just this topic either. There are things about certain locations. Chicago, Baltimore, San Franciso, etc. that we all know are bad. We can talk about solutions here, but I don't think many have taken actual action. Yes I know Patrick spoke at a meeting and has done other things along with other users. Housing has been rekindled a bit. I'd like to avoid the beating a dead horse posts basically but still have people use that site as it is now.

It's not about running from it or not being informed. I don't need 10 post daily sitting there over covid. That's why I asked if was different out there in CA. We literally don't talk about it here in IL. Never on the news.

Here in California, I still see people wearing masks, mostly Asian.

I've brought this up to my Chinese friend, who finds it embarrassing and stupid.

The point I'm making is don't let covid be forgotten. These assholes really should hang. Fauci did gain of function research, and then it was released either by accident or intentionally. There was event 201 which implies it was intentional, a vaccine that had no efficacy and was likely dangerous was forced on the public, small businesses were needlessly closed down, children were forced to wear masks to go to school, and for a year they didn't go to school, they did "remote learning" where they learned nothing.

I think these fuckers should pay for this, with their lives and we don't even know the outcome of this yet. There might be the walking dead among us, seriously.

In this video, they show that blood in at least some cases of vaccinated people, differ from those that are not vaccinated. That it's fundamentally changed them. All you need to do with a blood sample is run it through a centrifuge and you get this glob of protein.

I've been pissed off about my government for a long time, and my frustration is no matter what I show to people, they just write it off as a mistake. We should have executed these mother fuckers a long time ago. I have started to categorize 90% of the population as non sentient. Cattle.

I wouldn't care, but the sheep drag the herd, and the only way to be above the herd, is to become the victimizer. Should I consider the sheep evil because they are stupid, or should I join with the people controlling the sheep who are purposely killing them without a care in the world?

If we can't make you care, I guarantee people are going to give up, and just exterminate the population that doesn't care.

I used to do dog rescue for a long time, worked with some of the most violent and unpredictable cases, but I've also put down dogs that just can't be made sane. I'm modeling society off from that experience. A screaming Karen insisting I wear a mask and get vaccinated? Maybe that dog just needs to be put down, there are better and more deserving dogs to be brought in.

A dog isn't sentient, but there's a lot worth saving. I kind of feel the same way with "people" who aren't quite sentient, for the moment.
