A Riyadh-based “Islamic military alliance†has been formed with a mission to fight terrorism, Saudi Arabian state TV has announced. The coalition consists of 34 countries, including the Gulf States, a number of African countries, Turkey, Egypt, Malaysia and Pakistan.
Countries involved in the coalition aside from Saudi Arabia, include Jordan, the UAE, Pakistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Turkey, Chad, Togo, Tunisia, Djibouti, Senegal, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Gabon, Guinea, the partially-recognized state of Palestine, the Islamic Federal Republic of the Comoros, Qatar, Cote d’Ivoire, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Maldives, Mali, Malaysia, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Yemen.
LOL. All the terrorist countries forming a coalition against terrorism. That's the funniest thing I ever heard of.
Today, Saudi citizens continue to represent a significant funding source for Sunni groups operating in Syria. Arab Gulf donors as a whole -- of which Saudis are believed to be the most charitable -- have funneled hundreds of millions of dollars to Syria in recent years, including to ISIS and other groups. There is support for ISIS in Saudi Arabia, and the group directly targets Saudis with fundraising campaigns, so Riyadh could do much more to limit private funding.

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), now threatening Baghdad, was funded for years by wealthy donors in Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, three U.S. allies that have dual agendas in the war on terror.
The extremist group that is threatening the existence of the Iraqi state was built and grown for years with the help of elite donors from American supposed allies in the Persian Gulf region. There, the threat of Iran, Assad, and the Sunni-Shiite sectarian war trumps the U.S. goal of stability and moderation in the region.

He does not doubt that substantial and sustained funding from private donors in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, to which the authorities may have turned a blind eye, has played a central role in the Isis surge into Sunni areas of Iraq. He said: "Such things simply do not happen spontaneously." This sounds realistic since the tribal and communal leadership in Sunni majority provinces is much beholden to Saudi and Gulf paymasters, and would be unlikely to cooperate with Isis without their consent.
Saudi Arabia's Islamic coalition against terrorism

Also in the news:
In a string of royal decrees and an overarching new piece of legislation to deal with terrorism generally, the Saudi King Abdullah has clamped down on all forms of political dissent and protests that could "harm public order".
...
Article one of the new provisions defines terrorism as "calling for atheist thought in any form, or calling into question the fundamentals of the Islamic religion on which this country is based".
BTW, note that the new Saudi-led coalition includes our "ally" Pakistan, where blasphemy (e.g. saying Islam is no better than Christianity) remains a capital offense.

Translation 1: We created ISIS now they are out of control and about to bite us in the ass so we need help. Note a total lack of shia countries in the alliance.
Translation 2: The western population (western governments have known a long time but sold their souls to big oil) is figuring out where terrorism is really coming from, We need to provide some distraction and good PR to the clueless western media.
LOL. So they call atheists terrorists and this 34 nation coalition will chop off atheists heads in their version of the war on terror. Dan better be careful-the Saudi gubmnt and 34 countries consider you a terrorist!!!
Oh and calling into question the fundamentals of Islamic religion on which country is based-so all of us patnetters calling out wahabbi Saudi islam are terrorists. Oh and so is Donald Trump!!
Jihad, jihad, Allah Akbur-these savages are getting smart. Before they just chopped off the heads of non-beleivers and now they label them as terrorists and then chop off their heads.
sounds like another illusion created to take the heat off the saudis...
actions speak louder than words...lets see what specific actions this group takes.

Read this as "Alliance against Shi'a Islam, which is Terrorism"

Yup. Shites were left out because they are considered terrorists too. It won't be long before the Shites form their own coalition to counter Sunni terrorism. Then we can sit back and watch two braindead gangs finish each other off. Someone pass the popcorn.

Oh God. I better change my Avatar. There, now no one will know I am a fuckin atheist.
Several people already have touched upon the fact that the members of the alliance are essentially the countries that practice Sunni Islam.
But it still needs to be said explicitly: The “Islamic military alliance†is really just a "Sunni military alliance". That is all it is. It is an alliance aimed at the main Shiite states, namely Iran, Syria and partially Iraq.
That is all there is to it. ISIS is a tool of the Saudis to force Syria to become Sunni, and Iraq will follow. Then it is the turn of Iran, and that will be a bloody one if it ever happens.
There is no noble principle behind any of the above. It is a pure play by the Sunni states to take over the Shiite states. And in the end, we might very well get the United States of (Saudi) Arabia, with its capital in Riyhad, Saudi Arabia.
The Israelis are laughing all the way to the bank, but it may not last. USSA may turn on them, later.

The bloodier the better.

“The countries here mentioned have decided on the formation of a military alliance led by Saudi Arabia to fight terrorism, with a joint operations centre based in Riyadh to coordinate and support military operations,†state news agency SPA quoted an official statement as saying.
We can state the [US-led] coalition is simulating the fight against ISIS and real terrorism and acts on its own politicized approach to the situation, which runs counter to international law, at least in Syria. Now we can see that [this happens] not only in this country. As is known, the inactivity of the actions of the [US-led] coalition was distinctly confirmed by the growing ISIS problem,†Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said last week.
The US-led coalition’s airstrikes in Syria have never received permission from Syrian President Bashar Assad to enter the country’s airspace.
Meanwhile, Russia has been conducting its own airstrikes targeting IS and other terrorist groups in Syria since September 30. The strikes were launched at the formal request of Damascus. Russian jets have been carrying out sorties from Moscow’s Hmeimim Air Base in Latakia.
