Why shouldn't RT compete with the US lamestream media? Or Al-Jazeera for that matter. They all provide different viewpoints and selectively cover events, and they are all susceptible to and broadcasting propaganda. Look no further than CNN, FOX,MSNBC, HuffPo and the rest. Mostly propaganda with a couple of brief news bites. Love Kasparov's style of chess.

They have every right to compete. The viewers however need to understand that there's more to "question more" than what meets the eye.

Excellent. Just like US viewers should wonder why there is so little diversity on Trade and Foreign Affairs angles on American cable networks and in major newspapers.
I don't just mean the "what to do about X" but challenging the narrative about "What is actually happening with X"

You mean like they do with FOX and CNN"s coverage of the election?
Unless you watch the live stream the Idiots that read, watch and listen to the American MSM, honestly believes that Trump rallys are a Clan gathering.
I would much rather prefer to listen to a Russian news site financed by Putins Panamanian billions drill home 24/7 what a race pot stirring monkey, and a no good son of a bitch Obama is.
I'm a YUUUUUUUUUUUGE fan, of That! If it wasn't already on the internet I would buy TIVO just for RT.
I glad Republican & Democratic voters have elected a fully transparent U.S. Govt. that avoids propaganda & lies.
The station’s motto? No, it is not “We will bury you,†as Khrushchev might have had it. In the new voice of Russia, the station asks viewers to “Question More.â€
Russia Today, which is financed by the Russian government, has 20 million potential viewers in the United States. It has poured money into a Washington bureau, with 40 editorial positions there, and signed cable deals this year in Los Angeles and San Diego. It shows six hours of programming intended for the Americans in its global audience.
"Garry Kasparov, the former chess champion who is now an opposition activist in Russia, said the channel had other goals, too.
As the principal organ of external propaganda for the current Russian government, Mr. Kasparov said, Russia Today is an extension of the methods and approach of the state-controlled media inside Russia, applied in a bid to influence the American cable audience.
“There are certain rules of any dictatorship: never save money on police or propaganda,†Mr. Kasparov said in a telephone interview. “They made many cuts on social programs, but they spend money on propaganda.â€
But like the government in the Kremlin today, he said, the channel is not an ideologically driven organization. Rather than persuading audiences of the supremacy of Moscow’s system, the goal is to win acceptance in foreign policy circles for a government with a wobbly record on human rights and observance of the rule of law, Mr. Kasparov said."
