If congress republicans think they will continue their game and change nothing - which they will almost certainly do - then we may well be going toward a national catastrophe

The sooner we pay the piper, the more likely we can actually afford the bill.

We are never going to pay the bill.

Liberals are the Bernie or Bust people and the Jill Stein people. And it looks like most of the Bernie or Bust people just stayed home, which is why voter turnout was so low and the Republicans took both chambers of Congress. They aren't the ones crying today.

This in from Bernie :

Trump's first order of business is discipline for the Ryan-McConnell wing. He saved the GOP's bacon this year.

Then how come there are no economically disadvantaged kids going to school in your neighborhood?

Russia and Syria have publicly announced wanting peace with US. DOW is at record level. Canada announces they are willing to renegotiate NAFTA with the US. It's only been two days.WINNING!

Perhaps Trump is the first president who can hang a "Mission Accomplished" during his inauguration ceremony?

Yes, President Marine Le Pen is now more possible

The underlying trends that carried Trump to power are also present in France, and they are likely to fuel an inordinately strong performance by Le Pen next May — perhaps even her victory.

It's no surprise that Hillary lost and Bernie would have won. Pick the most hated senator instead of the most liked one? And pick the establishment candidate over the anti-establishment on during the biggest anti-establishment election in U.S. history? Stupid doesn't begin to cover this.

WTF would you have us learn? That Ayn Rand rules? That trickle down is the greatest economic theory ever? That's a far cry from the guarantees we and even taxpayers abroad are subsidizing for the .1% who appoint themselves as winners via political donations.

How about "Don't take money from Wall Street and Banks for speeches and appearances moments before you announce your Presidential Campaign"

Even you observe that Trump's electorate base are people who are celebrating mostly their emotional buttons getting pushed and others observed they all want to join hands to scream out a big "FUCK YOU" to their mostly miserable plights of lost homes, retirements, careers, etc. and "FUCK YOU" to the poor people who have been continually thrown in their faces to account for the big drain on their lives.

Yeah, I totally see this right now with all the blue haired SJWs running around in the streets like chickens with their heads cut off.

When they write about the causes of WW3 it will read: economic hardship, due to wealth disparity, ushered in scapegoating against others and nations became gripped by nationalism. In the guise of people's champions, populist figures rose to power on the fear and nationalism swaying the people. But, because no elected leaders removed the economic imbalances, reduced monied influence in government, and applied true progressive tax systems, the economic hardships continued into depression. Nationalism and depression lead to inevitable war, as the only thing leaders had to blame, to unify their populations and maintain power, was neighboring nation states that were once their strongest global trade partners.

76923   Rew   2016 Nov 10, 10:35pm

Nationalism, Racisim, Islamaphobia, Anti-Intellectualism : these are merely the outward symptoms/manifestations of the economic woes, the disenfranchised voice, of the rural/non-market-competitive whites.

#notmypresident is wrong. He is your president and yes, there will be massive upticks in hate crimes. Yes, he is a bigoted bafoon. I understand that your "leader" spoke out against you directly.

But that's actually not really the fight. The problem is not going away by drum circles and tolerance training. The battle isn't against hate. Hate is a runny nose, a cough, a motivator.

The problem gets addressed when Sanders version 2.0 comes and removes Citizens United, ushers in massive campaign finance reform, and actually gets money into people's hands at the expense of the 1%.That may be a candidate to unify the nation.

"Pussy grabbing", and the like, is a complete sideshow issue, though I do understand the protests right now.

Do you understand the nationalism sweeping the world?

IMO, the major take-away for Democrats is that you cannot win an election by focusing on racism or sexism. If the majority just don't care about that even with a candidate like Donald, just forget about that play.
Maybe, they should have focused more on the environment. I also think that Hillary made a mistake refusing to defend what she likes about free trade. By failing to defend what she likes about the issue, she just looked like a duplicitous tool.

I wonder what the Green party is thinking today. Maybe they think Hillary would be just as bad, and also think about appointing a climate change denier to head the EPA. Maybe Stein will be comforted by Donald's lack of respect for science. They overlap a bit there.

Agreed for the most part. That was a huge problem. A woman at any cost, even a woman who would set back women's rights by 40 years.

However, I would like to add that Hillary was also picked because she was the insider next in line to be president, whereas Bernie Sanders was a rebel rouser and outsider as far as the DNC was concerned. Sanders was stirring up trouble, whereas Hillary has a long history of touting the DNC's agenda and making political connections and favors. Had both candidates been men or both been women, Hillary would still have been chosen over Sanders and done everything they could to ensure Hillary was the nominee.

It's too bad that Hillary actually prevented two really good women from having any chance of becoming president. I'd love to see an Elizabeth Warren / William Black ticket. I'd also like to see Jill Stein run as a Democrat with the Democrats adopting the Green Party's platform largely or in whole.

The Clinton's, Obama's, Pelosi, Reid have brought a lot of disgrace to the Democrat party. They used to be a party with much more class - hell, I even voted blue several elections.

If Reid is doubling down on Trump, it's going to be a losing battle for this asshole.

If Taylor Swift ran for president once her fans are old enough to vote, she'd win in a landslide even as a third party candidate. Remember when California elected Arnold Schwarzenegger as governor in that recall election? Americans love celebrities, and Taylor Swift has an army of followers not seen since the Kiss Army all got hip replacements and had to retire.

And you don't want to fuck with the army of teenage girls that make up the Swift Army. Just ask Michael J. Fox.

He's such a tolerant conservative.

Guess making Rep/Con/Teas look like fools should be scratched off the bucket list.
