I just heard some extremely sad news that turtledove passed away recently, quite possibly over weekend. Had been in touch with her regarding a family issue and I got an email from her husband today indicating that she had passed away before I had a chance to reply . I am not privy to any other details.

Was very thoughtful of her husband to contact me, given his level of grief and work responsibilities in light of the bad news. She was a kind generous person who asked her husband to reach out to me on deathbed to meet up and discuss our case with us.

Personally, I'm in shock, as it seems to have happened this past Saturday or Sunday.

Condolences to the turtledove family. Long time lurker and loved her contributions.

That said, I'm gonna go into Gary territory.

I know Patrick mentioned that her husband had said she was suffering from migraine headaches. I would presume that she (or at her husbands request being a doctor) would have looked into this. MMR in his OP stated she requested her husband email him on her deathbed regarding his family situation. From the other responses it sounds like she fell down the stairs. I get there's randomness in the world, but I have a hard time believing someone of her age sustained life threatening injuries from falling down the stairs. It's possible no doubt, but now knowing the public turtledove, is there more to this?

Watch the video below. There's clearly a disagreement about Effuse being a safe and effective permanent birth control method... with Bayer doctors. Turtledove had mentioned in previous posts how they were one of the few that could effectively remove the device. They obviously provided other medical procedures for fertility, but it just seems fishy to me.

www.youtube.com/embed/X7iRaCAA_zc?rel=0

The Bayer site for Effuse says they've implanted 750,000 plus women with this thing. Basically, between doctors and Bayer, this is a BILLION dollar baby for them. What I'm getting at is it might be to risky to go after the doctor. Maybe send a warning signal without raising too many red flags. I just find it hard to believe that someone as young as she was could sustain life threatening injuries falling down the stairs. Not sure how and/or why someone could do something to cause this, just my crazy brain kicking in.

Before it gets confused, I'm blaming "dark" pharma for this and not any family member.

Gary rant over.

I assume the theory above is grasping at straws. I truly wish the family of turtledove the best considering the circumstances. Absolutely a phenomenal mind and she will be missed here at patnet. If anyone hears of a place to donate something or send something, please post it here.

I am a personal friend Susann's. She did indeed tragically pass away. She was a wonderful, caring, intelligent person and our world was better with her in it. I came across this site searching for possible arrangements on the internet. I decided to comment since there seemed to be some debate about her passing. I only wish it were a hoax. I will miss her laughter, our long talks and our enduring friendship. RIP Susann Sills 1971-2016

It seems likely that she was a troll, Mission accomplished time to move onto another project. The timing with respect to the election is pretty suspect.

I too was a close friend and our daughters were very close. She was a good listener and a very loyal and principled woman who touched so many people. I too came across this site while looking for arrangements. Pls do not disrespect this woman of her legacy. And if you do find service information please post. Thank you

124   PaisleyPattern   2016 Nov 17, 7:51am

If you are a close friend then why don't you post the service information?

125   anonymous   2016 Nov 17, 8:03am

Anyone have any ideas yet on what her patnet friends can do?

She was a proponent of free speech and she definitely liked Patricks site. We could all donate to Pubah Pat in her honor. Assuring patnet lives on

Or do something for her kids

I would think that her passing upset many here.

I question anyone's values that comes to patnet
although,all the dummies,here,are entertaining.
I'm here,I HAVE NO VALUES! lol

If I had the service information I would be glad to post it. I was trying to find it on the internet because I didn't want to bother her husband. I cannot image the the enormority of his and the children's grief.

It is a very rare woman who can hang in a male dominated conversation like this.
I value the ones that can enormously.

Poor Turtledove. Makes me hurt all over.

She decided to be the den mother for a bunch of reprobate Boy Scouts from Hell.

Ellie Mae

has not commented since August, and had been suffering from medical problems for a long time, so I wonder if another memorial post might be appropriate or imminent. We had been PatNet friends, but as she fell deeper into her Stockholm Syndrome, she decided to Ignore me and probably others. I hope she is OK.

135   Ceffer   2016 Nov 17, 1:36pm

There are likely other women here, but they don't dare post as such.

Perhaps the only fair view is the average of all fringe views.

137   curious2   2016 Nov 17, 2:03pm

Peter P is sad says

the average of all fringe views.

Seeing more sides of the elephant can add perspective, but averaging reason with delusion does not improve accuracy or fairness. For example, Gary insists that the children who died in Sandy Hook, and their grieving parents, were all actors conspiring to take away Americans' guns. If you start with evidence of what happened, and then "average" in Gary's view, you get further from reality. If the sole priority were inclusiveness, then it might seem more "fair" to give equal time to the delusional view, but time is valuable.

It does, from a game-theory standpoint.

Any statement is an attempt to persuade. A worldview can be construct from asking why certain statements are made and by whom.

fuck you - this thread is awkward. the meetup shit was awkward.

seems like somebody posted too much personal information on the internet, and now wants to escape it.

if she really did die, that's surely tragic - but who the fuck would want that news blasted on patrick.net like this? weird.

140   Mrs Wonderful   2016 Nov 17, 6:21pm

Proof is in the pudding. A published obit will confirm the event. The Facebook posts seem to have the same effect but are more easily manipulated in case someone's trying to pull an S. R. Haddon.

The best proof is Turtledove posting something. I still hope she is injured and not deceased.

142   Blurtman   2016 Nov 17, 6:28pm

Is the claim that to escape a stalker, she and her family fabricated her demise? Sounds a bit hard to believe.

An obit will tell all.

having trouble believing that internet user MMR was emailed about it the very next day.

It wasn't the next day, it was 3 days later and I don't know that she was on her deathbed; rather, her husband said that she had discussed the case with him and the accident must have happened within 24-72 hrs of the fall that led to her death.

The conversation with her husband might have happened months earlier as well, but last Friday day was the first time I contacted her and she replied Saturday.

I got a message Tuesday from her husband Tuesday stating that she would have wanted me to contact you(me).

Hope this clarifies any confusion. Sheesh, as if my conversation is the most important thing here

145   PaisleyPattern   2016 Nov 17, 6:47pm

Like I said. It sounds like bullshit.

146   Patrick   2016 Nov 17, 6:49pm

Does Orange County have an obligation to report deaths? If so, maybe we can simply inquire and confirm it officially, though I feel pretty certain it's unfortunately true.

147   sugarbean   2016 Nov 17, 6:55pm

An unwitnessed accidental death would be throughly investigated. The body would be held until they felt they had obtained all evidence that it might contain.

149   anonymous   2016 Nov 17, 7:12pm

first of all, this is patrick.net

but overall, one normally expects death announcements as straight-to-the-point with details on the arrangements for bereavement/support.

i'm not saying she's alive, but there's some details that don't really feel 100% authentic.

Was she ever the victim of spousal abuse?
Did her husband know she bared her beasts to the world?

152   Ceffer   2016 Nov 17, 7:19pm

TD wouldn't have to fake a death. All she would need to do is quit posting and responding forever, and memories would fade.

Even if she did fake a death, all is forgiven as long as she is OK.
