#Liberalism and high taxes

https://www.illinoispolicy.org/story/home-is-where-the-hurt-is-how-property-taxes-are-crushing-illinois-middle-class/
Joel Schurtz lived all across the U.S. before coming to Illinois. He took promising job opportunities where he could find them, from California to Alabama. His wife, Michelle, and their three young children would follow.
“Our family always had a plan,” Joel said. “We had three- to five-year goals and a plan. But when we came to Illinois that plan went out the window.”

Are you denying he said that. You probably think Obama's quote on doctors and plans is a Fox news made up story too-LOL!

What are you talking about. The quote I posted was from a Republican leaning newspaper.

And why do you keep bringing up Obama and healthcare? Can you not have a civil discussion and stay on topic?

It is you who can't have a civil discussion-when you say lies, lies lies and throw all kinds of insults. Can't you self reflect and think instead of projecting your behavior on others or regurgitating talking points. You talk about being civil-LOL-self reflection is valuable-unless you are a paid partisan hack !

The quote you posted may be from wherever. But the sponsor of the arrest bill said on the floor of the house that it impacts all employees of a collective bargaining agreement. That is what he said while pushing for arrest of elected folks-just think of that for a minute-arrest of people saying they don't want to force participate in a union and you support this thug police state.

The bill allows municipalities to be right to work even in a state that is not right to work. The point of the bill is to allow companies to build new plants and not be right to work if unionized.

State workers would obviously not be affected. It's definitely possible that a politician stood up on the floor and issued a statement that exaggerated the truth to scare and make his point. And when I say government workers, I'm typically not thinking of police and firefighters.

And every time you make ridiculous statements like I support a thug police state, it only hurts your argument.

Nope it exposes you. It arrests people with Class A misdemeanor-which is what a thug police state does and you support that.

Now you admit what the thug sponsor of the bill said on the floor of the house and yet feign ignorance on why I bring in Obama-who lied multiple times about doctors and plans to pass the bill. Chicago dems -LOL..

No--it was to allow the Republican 1% to drive down wages as far as possible so they pay labor less and keep more.

Are you saying there are no Democrats in the 1% who own businesses who will benefit?

Only a very specific type of people. General public can say whatever they want.

Not feigning ignorance. Just wondering why you cant stay on topic. Usually that's the hallmark of a losing position.

LOl repeating your words is not me telling you how you feel-it is emrely repeating.

You are now racist-only black people can be called thugs? This thug wants to threaten people with jail for exercising their free will of not contributing to his group/union. That is a thug.

the Republican paradise you dream of is back in the days of the robber barons. Where companies own their workers, set up little company towns with company stores where they force their serfs to work 18-20 hours/day, 7 days/week. Worker injuries and deaths were common. We've been there and done this and thankfully unions helped drive change to where labor was valued. I'd prefer not to go back.

You can't go back - we have laws which prevent the shit you described. So unless these laws are repealed (which is not happening) the argument about unions guarding us from 20-hour workdays is bogus.

Have you not been paying attention? Those laws are getting repealed. Slowly but surely.

You're losing it. You have never repeated my words--you are always putting words in my mouth. Incorrectly.

And who brought up race here? I just said you're constantly calling people you don't agree with "thugs" which is pretty lame.

Blah, blah, blah-have no substance, resort to distractions.

Maybe the Dems should just send the Mafia door-to-door with brass knuckles, shaking down property owners directly like they did in the old days.

Really? Which of federal labor protection laws have been repealed recently?

this just reminds us that government first and foremost protects itself, not the taxpayers who they treat as slaves. why such high taxes? to pay government salaries and expenses. Hell most of us out here wouldn't even know if state government disappeared one day, there is nothing they can do for us with our money that we can't do ourselves better.

Great-let's cut military spending by a factor of 100 then.

That’s off topic, but sure why not.

Everything in Illinois is over budget and behind schedule - except Chicagos murder rate.

Criminals have the best work ethics. They get the job done without complaining. They also help us by killing other criminals.
If we offered a $10,000 reward for each criminal killed, we would not need law enforcement.
