Google is a private company.
A library is a government run public institution.
Hopefully you recognize the difference there.
So you believe bakeries can refuse wedding cake orders?
A rural library is not the Library of Congress, with a copy of every book published. It's also run locally by the public who funds it with limited tax dollars.
Whereas posting links to infowars is free and Google is nationwide and considers itself a Platform, but acts like a Publisher.
Well a library refusing a free bestseller seems a LOT like censorship to me.
Hmm, not to me. Sounds like a tiny rural library has limited shelf space and a limited budget. No reason to buy a book that maybe half a dozen people will use.
Well "free" means the budget doesn't matter.
And, there is no shelf space for the best selling book in a decade?
You mean if they don't buy it a few weeks after it comes out, it's censorship?
Look what a deal people got if they waited a few months to buy "What Happened?"
Fiction titles sell well these days, but better to wait for discounts and/or the softcover.
Smart Librarians
No.
If the library refused a free copy would you consider that censorship?
Herdingcats saysты сосать путинский член?
Libraries are government-funded and government run institutions.
Damn, just look at all the down votes this thread got.
Like I said, I wonder how many libraries the Journalists called before the found one that didn't buy Woodward.
I wonder how long before the book hits the discount bin at 50% off?
By Thanksgiving at the latest?
It’s almost as if the author was trying to make a ludricrous point that was rejected with prejudice.
Why are you being purposely dishonest again? You've been told multiple times that the book was offered for FREE. Why do you persist in claiming the library didn't buy it??
Yep--the point being that Trump cultists don't like free speech. And it's a good point.
Riiiiiiight. When was the last time you saw 1000 Trump Supporters have a Chimp Out, throwing molotovs and assaulting people, over campus speakers?
Yep--the point being that Trump cultists don't like free speech. And it's a good point.
Weak sauce!
"But but but there is this one library in West Virginia!!!!""

"A library in West Virginia says it has no intentions of carrying a copy of veteran journalist Bob Woodward’s new tell-all book about the Trump administration.
The Washington Post reported Friday that the Morgan County Public Library in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., does not plan to place Woodward’s book, “Fear: Trump in the White House,” on its shelves."
The right continues it's drive toward censorship and limiting free speech.
