Just a reminder, SCOTUS appointments have nothing to do with the House.

The Senate is behind Trump, and the two big Never Trumpers are dead or resigned.

Hmm. I thought you were predicting a gain in the House for the republicans?

I was. Strongly!
It didn’t work out. Guess my crystal ball is a bit foggy. All that Red in the Senate pinked over to occlude the House race.

If you look at it that way, the gain was +6 Senate seats for MAGA. Two GOPe gone and replaced with MAGA, one Arizona seat McStain vacated and is now solidly MAGA (once the Dem concedes), two pickups in Missouri and N Dakota, and one more in Florida.
That’s a nice cushion. No wonder Trump is feeling froggy!

House races lost can be attributed to gerrymandering and local politics as well as a huge influx of Democrat money into contested races.

Influx of damned Yankees into TX, who have destroyed economy in their own states and now come to destroy it in the Great State of Texas.

She won't quit until she's achieved a lifetime best of 3000 metric long tons of circuitous, ambiguous, mumbling legal ramblings at hundreds if not thousands of dollars per page leading up to arbitrary SCOTUS legislations.

The last great justice was Earl Warren, who conspicuously sold his soul under color of authority and integrity to the FBI and CIA by by helping to forge the Warren Commission results to bend to their will. He showed how a double jointed legal whore could really operate.

That woman will live forever.

Didn't she survive both colon and pancreatic cancer and also have heart surgery recently?

Broken ribs are a bitch though and really hurt, probably requiring some major pain medication.

Where is that animated gif of Ginsburg dying when you need it?
24   krc   2018 Nov 8, 10:50am

The comment about blue-state folks moving to texas and corrupting the value is too true! I have a good liberal friend who is moving out of state(CA) because he doesn't like the taxes and is retiring - and yet he voted yes on all tax increases, etc... His view is that someone "else" should be paying - he can flee when he wants - for a low tax state, and then once there start voting for "high taxes". :)
26   Tenpoundbass   2018 Nov 8, 11:00am

Could you imagine if she dies this week?

In the same week Trump gets a bullet proof Senate.

How cool would that be? I mean it would suck for HER! And the Libs offering her a rib and liver.
But it would be really cool for us Patriots that were insulted by the first LBGT SCOTUS.

That’s because they make it hurt to breathe normally, causing the person to breathe shallowly. This leads quickly to pneumonia due to various factors. And old immune systems aren’t great at fighting off disease. Additionally, old livers and kidneys aren’t great at eliminating toxins the bacteria produce, so the body slips into sepsis and then organ failure. When the heart shuts down it can’t be restarted and the patient dies.
All from broken ribs!

“Because of gerrymandering,” Behar interrupted.

What a dumbass! Senate contests are decided on a state-wide vote, not one that can be carefully apportioned into drawn districts where gerrymandering can happen! With Senators, every vote counts. She’s just plain ignorant, as are her fans.

I think Ocascio the Neiman Marcus Socialist made a stupid comment about her stopping appointments when she's in the House, too.

Edit: Here's another retarded remark, this one from Manchin (Trump told WV he'd caucus with the Dems on most everything important!)
Firing Sessions is a Constitutional Crisis, for some reason, as if the President doesn't have the power to fire from his own Cabinet..

We get a new on in January.

Ginsburg-ageddon

REPORT: Retirement in January?

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has had a re-occurrence of malignant melanoma, she has told her law clerks. Ginsburg was treated in 1999 for colon cancer and had surgery in 2009 for pancreatic cancer.
34   MisdemeanorRebel   2018 Nov 8, 12:07pm

It's time, Ginsberg has to go.

To cling on so with all these health problems is ridiculous at this point. She's 85.

Kavanaugh is going to look like Sunday school.

Of course I remember. Mccain and Flake were the douchiest never Trumpers alive (RIP John).

But now with a solid senate majority, I wonder what Democrats will pull when Ginsburg leaves the bench (by her will or not). I would bet on there being multiple false flag type events happening in a short span.

Actually, we had a constitutional crisis over just that. The first POTUS to get impeached was because he fired a cabinet officer Congress forbade him to. Seriously.

From the Wikipedia article you linked:
In 1887, the Tenure of Office Act was repealed by Congress, and subsequent rulings by the United States Supreme Court seemed to support Johnson's position that he was entitled to fire Stanton without Congressional approval. The Supreme Court's ruling on a similar piece of later legislation in the 1926 Myers v. United States affirmed the ability of the president to remove a postmaster without Congressional approval, and stated in its majority opinion "that the Tenure of Office Act of 1867 ... was invalid".[47]

So the very act of law for the violation of which Andrew Johnson was impeached, was both repealed and deemed unconstitutional.
This means that going forward we can firmly discount all arguments that begin with the presupposition that the POTUS can’t fire someone from his cabinet. He can and he has and he will. There’s not even an unconstitutional act in force to oppose him.

Everybody in the executive branch serves at the President's pleasure. Congress can't forbid him to fire anybody, nor claim it's a high crime or misdemeanor for him to do so.

can impeach

I suspect we might see 2 years of hearings and impeachment theater, and the Senate won't remove, so it would replay 1996. Many Democrats feel motivated by 'revenge', 'vengeance', OrangeManBad, whatever, so they will resort to self-destructive behavior rather than trying to make deals with someone they consider the devil.

Also, the House has no role in judicial confirmations. Democrats could try to use House control as leverage in negotiations over judicial nominations, but that would require dealing with the "devil" OrangeManBad. I doubt that Democrats would really prioritize judicial nominations in that way, or make the necessary deals, and besides Republican Senators might prefer partisan appointees.

The election result was predicted by polls but remains disappointing IMO: Democrats got the wrong house of Congress. If Democrats had won the Senate but not the House, then they could not impeach, but they could insist on nonpartisan judicial appointments. Instead, we have the opposite.

Folks, If the SCOTUS is seen as partisan and rubber-stamping policies that are seen as unconstitutional by half the country, then we have a constitutional crisis.
It means half the country no longer respects the institutions overall.
No citizen should want that to happen.
