Must be something in "the water".

What Could Be More Important Than Politics: MONEY!

Interesting that Ch. Schumer was for building a border wall a decade ago (knowing that will not happen) but it was enough strong declaration to scare Mexican drug Cartel. Now he is strongly against it. Is it only about political power OR he is actually having financial benefits from smugglers/drug cartel??? Definitely not about national security.

IF you're for maximizing border security, then you wouldn't be for Trump's wall. You would want to address the most dire border security issues needs first. And you would want to truly solve problems.

And also you would know that the wall is mostly symbol and political. Not about truly prioritizing border security.

I guess some would argue that doing something wasteful and symbolic such as Trumps wall on the border is okay, as long as you're willing to also spend money on all the other needs related to the border. Then you could have the best of both worlds. Give Trump his bragging rights, and then quietly deal with the real issues, without seeking credit or political glory, just solving problems. That's pretty much what democrats do I guess.

Personally I'm opposed to the waste, and in favor of not giving the idiot what he wants. Press him to do something more sensible, even if it involves 5 billion.

Maybe a compromise is let Trump build the wall in a few key small areas, but put most of the money towards better long term solutions using technology, and border security personnel. But also beef up the immigration courts.

Yes, because it makes much more sense and it wastes LESS money to spend between $54 billion to over $110 billion a YEAR versus a one time cost of $5 billion...

Oh, wait.

Oh boy, and this guy's a math teacher.

What about sanctuary cities, voter ID, etc?

What is more sensible in your opinion. Democrats did not come up with any sensible proposition. They see financial benefits with open border.
Drug Cartel bribe politician in first line. It's a part of business expenses.

Cameras and drones will not stop anybody, unless they are equipped with automatic guns to shoot to whatever is moving.

You mean allowing undocumented people that have been here for decades, and that have children here ? Allowing them to feel safe ?

As for illegal immigrants voting in state or national elections ? There is no evidence that happening. When you register to vote, you have to prove citizenship. If you haven't registered, then you don't get on the list to vote.
