That's not one shooting per minute. I understood that you meant "shootings" instead of "mass shootings". Most of "regular shootings", the type that probably happen once every minute, are likely criminal. With mass shootings, I have not seen statistics - but if I assume that mass shooting is more than one person shot, even then I'd guess most would be criminal. In 2018, there were nearly 400 shootings in Chicago where 2 or more people were shot, and as far as I know, all were criminal. I do not trust journalists, and if they can not get their statistics correct, everything else that they extract from their incomplete data is suspicious and should be approached with caution.
