New Bernie Sanders healthcare overhaul would cover illegal immigrants

Sen. Bernie Sanders' ambitious plan to overhaul the nation's healthcare system would grant coverage to those residing in the country illegally.

The Vermont lawmaker's new bill, which was introduced Wednesday, states that "every individual who is a resident of the United States is entitled to benefits for health care services." The Secretary of Health and Human Services would "promulgate a rule that provides criteria for determining residency for eligibility purposes under this Act."

Even if an individual is not covered under a broad definition of "residency" by the secretary of HHS, the federal government can take steps "to ensure that every person in the United States has access to health care."

But the bill states that the federal government would create a rule barring foreigners from coming to the United States for the sole purpose of receiving free healthcare.

I think many of the Bernie supporters (and supporters of other socialist/democrats) believe that changing the tax rates on high-income workers won't change those workers' behavior. They are told that, mathematically, a 90% income tax will bring in the revenue — that's probably true as far as it goes. What they don't understand is that the people taxed at 90% will simply stop working (if they are honest) or figure out how to cheat on their taxes so as to avoid paying the 90% rate.

Now apply the same [il]logic to healthcare for illegal alians: These same people don't realize that giving free stuff to illegal aliens will induce an even larger inflow of illegal aliens.

The thing is that out of that 90% taxes, even if some pay it... it'll all end up in pockets of bureaucrats and their wealthy friends. It won't go to people. Even right now, CA is great example of this... government lives well at expense to private sector.

There’s not enough enforcement in the world to make people comply with a tax law thought to be generally unfair. Even if ten percent of taxpayers refused to pay, it would take the IRS a decade to get through them. For one year.
The IRS does lots of psyops to make people believe it’s more vigilant than it actually is.
