I live a half mile away from Joe DiMagio Memorial Hospital, and I haven't heard one single siren.

Why is it that you "have to have heard of at least 100+ friends and friends of friends" by now? Why not 1, 10, or 1000?

You do know about the hyperbolic models that are being pumped in all media right now? Right? Including Trump's clan?

The fear mongering with this is staggering. My point is, given my sphere of people, I should know at least 100 people that have it, at minimum, that have been infected. It's 3 right now, 1 dead and another death coming. If ya wanna hockey stick this somehow after IL has already been shut down for 14 days, I'll eat my words in 5 days. Given I know 3 that means I should know 100 by the end of the week if your theory is correct and the medias theory.

That's what I'm getting at. Is it that complicated?

I thought that's all one ever hears in Florida in normal times? In particular ambulances...

If you have kids all you get is shit eye from all the oldies. Especially in the retirement areas. We went to Tampa during off season for tourism. The fuck? Went to breakfast and if your iris' had laser pointers attached we'd have dozens on us. Could have been the wife for the men, but I think they were pissed that we were there with kids. My kids are top notch well behaved too. It was weird.

That’s quirky. My workplace is over 25 now, most of which I don’t now know, even as far as working with them goes. But no ones hospitalized and I don’t think anyone’s going to die.

Did it ever occur to you that if people are going to the hospital with Corona Virus, even if by ambulance, they are usually at a stage that doesn't require a siren ?

If an ambulance is dispatched from the fire dept or whatever, and the paramedics decide (at the home - after using siren to get to the home) that it isn't the level of emergency that requires lights and sirens going to the hospital, then you're not going to hear ambulances with sirens just becasue you live near the hospital. I don't know, but I'm assuming people go to the hospital as soon as breathing starts to get difficult, or shortly thereafter, especially since people are somewhat well informed about this.

https://www.ems1.com/ems-products/ambulance-lights/articles/the-truth-about-ems-use-of-lights-and-sirens-r9pUQqroI61J1MOj/

In New Jersey, MONOC still responds to all calls with lights and sirens, although paramedics and EMTs can determine on scene if transports to the hospital are time-sensitive and need to go lights and sirens. The long-term goal is to decrease the use of lights and sirens, but one hurdle in improving triage is that police dispatchers answer all 911 calls, then contact EMS dispatchers if it’s a medical call. EMS dispatchers never actually speak to callers, Dworsky says.

The video supports the use of lights and sirens when dealing with a true emergency, but recommends improving patient triage by dispatchers to determine who truly needs a lights and sirens response.

It turns out that speeding using lights and sirens to go through red lights etc is dangerous. It's not done when it's not necessary.

Keep trying though, everyone on this forum is very clear on what you want to believe and what you "feel" is true.

Good thing all the doctors in the US (over 1 million) are all libruls and know how to keep a secret.

In fairness, your typical doctor has almost no critical thinking skills and is hardly ever even at a hospital, so they wouldn't be likely to have an opinion anyway if this corona virus scare is exaggerated bs. So you're probably right, it would be easy for the globohomo elite to pull off a hoax on this scale.

Jesus. I was talking work people as well. 25? Maybe IL is behind the "curve" or whatever. It's very dead here (not people, just not much going on). St. Patrick's day was the biggie here and we're 14+ days removed at this point. Lockdown basically started here 15 days ago.

My wife has gone running almost daily by herself. Limited, to no interaction with another human. I've left the house 2-3 times. Hand sanitizer in the car and used every time. I think this is more contagious as what is being put out there, but I still think someone has to sneeze or cough around you in the moment. Or you are rubbing your face after touching a contaminated surface.

I generally never took individual vitamins or supplements. Just general stuff. Started taking vitamin D supplements about a year ago. Haven't been sick since... knock on wood. I don't know, I'm pretty convinced it's helping.

I went to a Diner in South Florida and got the stink eye, too. At Lunchtime. Even though the place was 120dB from the multiple TVs and loud talking always. My kid simply drew with crayons at the table the whole meal. Staff was nice, but Old Pensioners, not at all, even though they were all shouting at each other across the table. "HEY MARGE, HOW IS THE RICE? WHAT?! THE RICE, HOW IS IT? NOT BAD FOR THE MONEY!"

My favorite is old people shopping. They lollygag for an hour to buy one or two things. But if they don't get checked out in less than 5 minutes, whinge moan bitch. They also love to go to the bank and lunch right when everybody with a job is on their lunch hour, though they have all day to BS.

I'm old enough to remember the Greatest Generation, total opposite. A handful of grouches, but most were polite and liked kids and teens (ie me).

IT's not possible that you've become more arrogant and whiney about others and judgmental of others in your (relative) old age ?

"ohhh, those old people were looking at me."

Ambulances don't need sirens when there are so few cars on the road. I've seen ambulances with lights on / siren off in the last week.

There are no CV-19 experts.....🤥 Regardless of any observed traits similar to other virus', there are no experts, especially given China is a lying ass hoe. Hence why what you posted is absolute bill shit and it proves that. 20k up to 500k cases from the "experts" is a joke. The difference for the experts is 25x's different from low to high end. On what planet is this accuracy or expert opinion?

The number of cases is inconsequential for the most part. What "flattens" the curve is those that are susceptible to dying from this die from it. A vaccine best case with short development time is going to be at best 20-30% effective. This isn't going away anytime soon.

We haven't had a legit pandemic in a while. We were due. This is what I mean by fear mongering. There's nothing we can do long term. This is going to kill people that are weak. It sucks. I still don't understand the reaction is my point. I'm not disputing case numbers or deaths really. The numbers will go where they will. I don't have grandparents anymore and only my mom and mother in law. Death isn't new to me. What are you gonna do either way? I already have a friend with a coworker that died from this.

If it ends up at 2M dead in the US, oh well? WTF are you gonna do? It's a virus. Other pandemics have killed more per capita by a long shot in the last 50-70 years. This is so far showing to be a weak one. We'll see. Some people may not be turning in their census it sounds like.

It started two weeks ago the Sunday after lockdown.
First a sore throat. Then my lungs started to feel congested. I dosed on the C, one gram twice daily. I drank more water than normal. I got this horrible pounding headache and achy body. I took ibuprofen. Not the worst cold of my life. But I'm a boomer and we been through worse.

Please nobody take Ibuprofen in the next three months, if you have covid19 but don't have symptoms but a headache. The Ibuprofen will turn it into Lung AIDS.

This is why there were so many Doctors and Nurses all over the world dying from it. People in the medical profession swear by Ibuprofen.

Anti-inflammatory drugs and COVID-19
The notion that anti-inflammatory drugs increase the risk of complications during fever or infection is “mostly theoretical,” Yang said.

Medical experts debate whether or not reducing the inflammation that causes fever and muscle ache actually lowers the effectiveness of the immune response. On the flip side, patients who have worse symptoms may be more likely to take ibuprofen, and their outcome may have nothing to do with the medication itself.

“There are some clinical observations of small numbers of patients that suggest ibuprofen could slow recoveryTrusted Source from bacterial pneumonias or make some viral infections like chickenpox more severe, but these aren’t careful prospective scientific studies,” Yang said.

“Other publications have even argued that ibuprofen can be helpful in lung infectionsTrusted Source by reducing the amount of inflammation, which may be damaging to the lung,” he added.

One thing specific to COVID-19 is that some lab experiments are showing that ibuprofen may boost the amount of ACE2 receptors that the virus uses to infect cells and could make the virus spread faster. But that is “purely theory that so far is not backed by clinical evidence in patients,” Yang said.

But it's clear if you look at the percentage of medical professionals dying from covid vs the rest of the population.
I dated several Nurses in my day, they took Ibuprofen for everything. I'm an aspirin man myself.

I live within earshot of a busy expressway in San Jose.

Heard one yesterday in San Jose. But, that was the first in over a week.

Nearly all of them are related to traffic accidents so it's not too surprising we don't hear them much at all now.
