Who got fucked coming out of 2008, renters and cash holders. Whose gonna get fucked this time or the next time, renters and cash holders. Why? Because the Fed, MMT and politicians know only one thing INFLATION.

Housing is just another asset like gold, bitcoin, etc. that acts as an inflation hedge. Housing is very local and you need to know what you're doing, but if you think the Fed is going to double or triple the debt and assets are going to go down then your not playing the game right.

And if your betting on the whole "50% crash, then I'll buy", good luck, I'm sure you have been waiting for 15 years and are probably just risk adverse and will never buy.

Just to expand on inflation, I was watching the 1991 film Point Break last night and in the movie before the last bank robbery, Utah was ordering food for him and his partner, 2 meatball sandwiches, 1 tuna sandwich and 2 lemonades, $7.30.... That's one coffee these days. Just like grandma said bread was $.05, in...

Very good reminder. You have to be invested otherwise inflation is your financial Chinese water torture.

Lee should have listened to Longstreet who better understood tactics given the technology of the time. Longstreet wanted to get between the AOP and Washington and force the Union to attack the Confederates on good defensive terrain. Lee didn't have a stonewall Jackson to save his sorry ass this time around.

How drunk did those guys have to be to advance on defensive positions in a huge mass of bodies?

As wide (and swollen) as the Potomac was at the time, a battle in someplace like Montgomery county MD would have had Lee's back against a river that he could not escape across easily. He had trouble enough crossing it near Hagerstown where it is easier to cross. Are you suggesting something different?

BTW, I have been to a lot of these places, like Gettysburg, I recommend visiting, but would wait until the Visitors Center reopens.

Imagine wearing the uniform of the United States military, and learning that Russia is paying bounties to Afghan soldiers to kill you. Then you hear that your commander-in-chief has not only known about this for months and not only done nothing, but has actively courted the Russian president.

#FakeNews, but you'll repeat it no matter how many Intel Agencies say otherwise.

And? Jealousy is a nasty trait. Most people that have it want to harm the person, thing or country they're jealous of. Guess what... a lot of people are jealous of the US and most men and women in uniform completely understand this. Even in allied countries you have to watch your back.

Whether Trump knew about it or not is a moot point. It was going on during Bush and Obama eras as well. WTF are you supposed to do about it? Lob nukes at Russia? Bomb them? (Trump did FYI) What would be your solution? Everyone is free to their opinion, but it has to be somewhat logical. What could have Trump done differently in your world? Serious question.

thomasdong1776 says
but has actively courted the Russian president.

You're taking the bait man. You have to understand diplomatic relations. We're better off having a solid relationship with Russia. Putin knows it too. Even allies are theoretically economic adversaries at minimum. There's always going to be animosity in any relationship. How you manage that is important. Besides nukes, Russia has zero leverage. War in the middle east causes more harm to both countries. Being unified in decision making helps both.

Come up with an idea. I'm all ears. Methinks you just want to complain about Trump though. Which you're entitled to do.

Yes, we are much worse off than before Trump took the reins from Obama on National Security and Foreign affairs.
1. USMCA just started today: Win.
2. No more war in the Middle East: No more body bags of dead US soldiers coming home to families: Win.
3. Trade with China: more in our favor, companies re-shoring daily, decoupling with China on other fronts: Win.
4. N. Korea: no more appeasement. Win.

And yet, we are in mortal danger from a bat-shit crazy president. How?

All this from a book by a disgruntled, fired employee, all hearsay, no corroboration from anyone else in the room.
Oh, puh-leeze, CNN.

The housing market has bounced back from the initial pandemic shutdown in a huge way.

On Monday, data on pending home sales in May showed a record increase in the number of signed contracts for home purchases. Pending home sales rose 44.3% in May, the biggest monthly jump in the series which dates back to 2001. Pending home sales, however, are still down more than 10% from where they stood in February.

Ian Shepherdson, chief economist at Pantheon Macroeconomics, said in a note Monday that this data shows the housing markets is “well on the way to full recovery, unlike the rest of the economy.”

ISIS is nothing more than an extension of the CIA which is why they fight exclusively with US weaponry.

The US has used terrorists for decades. Getting rid of them is easy - you just stop paying them.

At least in BA new building is almost prohibited relative to demand. Given the stock options around, can sustain the price growth. I know someone who flipped 2 houses in Milpitas during the last 4 mo still made profit and bought one in Santa Clara.

Only his inaction is.
If he's really up there alone, and Willam Barr is just keeping his terdless ass on the AG seat so the Commie takeover can happen.
Then Trump needs to give an up lifting Obama, Maxine Waters, Hillary Clinton, and Eric Holder speech like those before him, imploring his base to get in their faces, and tell them they aren't welcome where, use our AR15's if we have to take this country back. This is not a drill, how it looks in the news is how it is for real. Rise up and tell them they aren't welcome here, run them out of town if they wont take up Arms, we're all on our own.

But Barr and Durham might be legit and will finally start doing their jobs. That's why we're giving Trump a shot, for Liberal's sake, they better pray he succeeds.
It's just going to be better, if Hillary, Obama and the James Gang all goes to jail with countless others. Don't be a useful idiot, Trump has showed America too much. We're not going back to Commie town. That ship has sailed.

Keep the faith that Trump will pull it together folks. Or we're going all Maxine Waters on the Democrats.

Uh no - ISIS is the Islamic State in Syria, Iraq - Levant. Formerly ISIL. I guess Trump didn't eliminate all Islamic Extremism in 4 years - nevermind that ISIS burst out during Obama's watch and grew like mad.

You may have forgotten the propaganda that was being dished out a few years ago:

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/09/world/asia/isis-philippines-jolo.html

You see, Duterte was pivoting toward China and kicking out the drug dealers going through the Philippines - executing them. That's a major source of black money used by the Cocaine Importation Agency. So Duterte had to deal with a minor coup attempt to make him stop.

ISIS is entirely a creation of the United States intelligence agencies. It would magically show up wherever the United States had a problem with a nation's leader.

Yes. Really.

Why is ISIS armed with US weaponry?

I suppose they might have a knife or two that were locally made - but military grade weaponry - that's provided by the United States. The ridiculous story is that a bunch of ISIS terrorists show up to an armed Iraqi base, then loot the armory as all the trained soldiers - some of which are American mercs, run away in terror - despite being armed. Don't you remember that unbelievable excuse?

I'm just wondering when other people will have the balls to call their fucking terrorist government out on their ridiculous bullshit. I mean, how fucking large of a lie do they have to tell you before you figure it out - it's a lie.

Hospitalization is the other metric that does matter. In my region it's still massively down and that's coming straight from a hospital source that has their internal data for dozens of facilities. Even if Covid hospitalization is up, overall they're not remotely overwhelmed and as you state, deaths are down.

And I know they're cherry picking 2-3 hospitals across the country with a higher patient load and blasting that as a news story. Wait till this next week after all the firework injury hospitalization data comes in.... It will all be Covid.

I do think deaths run sideways for a bit here though because we have to open up and it will keep spreading.

Yup. There's literally no gain from doing it. I could jack off 30 times in a day, but what would that accomplish? Kind of the way I look at Everest. Waste of time to score a stupid point with your peers who are also likely stupid.
112305   Tenpoundbass   2020 Jul 2, 9:44am

The Irish were considered lowlife scum in early America, because our Landlords were British, and the British considered them lowlife scum. They had been persecuted for Centuries before America was even discovered. They were oppressed so much, they had low self esteem and lived in squalor and went around dirty and ragged.
The only reason they were brought to America was to be indentured servants, basically White Slaves. After 100 yeas of doing that, the New England area had a large population of them. The American police wanted nothing to do with patrolling the Paddy zones, so they deputized a few. They did so well at it, and had such a knack for policing. They were eventually made to police areas outside of the Irish neighborhoods.
