Why does it sound different as soon as the shock wave visually starts growing, before it reaches them, along with the big bang? I would think the big bang came from the explosion that created the shock wave.

edit - oh, maybe that sound was from right before the explosion, and it just got lucky and lined up with the visual of shock wave traveling over the buildings.
btw, theres lots of vids from other angles. crazy explosion.
Some say it was a fireworks warehouse, and there is video before the main explosion consistent with this.
Aside from a rocket engine factory explosion filmed from nearby mountains, this is probably the most intense non-military shockwave I've ever seen on video. The way it enveloped that high rise hotel looking building was crazy. I want to see before and after pictures of the explosion side of it.
Compared to events like the Halifax explosion, this is actually "not that big."
I don't see how this is from stored fertilizer. There was a fertilizer factory in Texas that went up in flames a few years ago and it was nothing like this.

Fireworks ignited, detonated, and that detonated some type of nitrate fertilizer. They said sodium nitrate but that is impossible as that does not explode by itself, so must be ammonium nitrate. So likely not a terrorist act, but then again this happened in an Armenian district...and Turks seem to be very active lately See this for similar case in Texas: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_City_disaster
I thought that was a hotel right near the explosion, now I see it's a grain elevator. No wonder 80% of their grain stores were reported destroyed. It was amazing the way the shock wave and water/debris overtopped this structure in the videos.
Yeah it was burning before, wasn't it? Doesn't look like an attack to me but who knows. That's a crazy explosion.
Yes, clearly burning, with flashes in the smoke, but maybe that was all part of the attempt to set off the big explosion. It's possible, though it does seem unlikely without more info.

It’s fine.
