Yup and we still get the occasional Karen masker on the forum telling us to wear them and save other people, lol. I actually don't think a true pandemic can occur with modern medicine and treatments anymore. And that will only get better. Everyone I know that got it has been asymptomatic and maybe a day or two of minor symptoms like a cough or feeling tired at worst. I don't even think this would kill 1,000 years ago.

But you're exactly right that it's a fear campaign. You get people to think about the air around them killing them and their mortality and people will become irrational like flipping a switch. Even smart people. The fear of death is a powerful tool that powerful people and orgs can use. One of the biggest things I've learned and maybe figured out, don't fear death. It's the only thing that is 100% guaranteed, 100% of the time. Enjoy life and have fun because at some point you dead and there's nothing you can do about it.

Pandemic granted the pols their fondest wish: "If only Rome had but a single neck". It's been planned for years as a way to cancel people's rights and impose tyranny/torture/punishment.

I live in California: we have about 40 million people. We have 700K "cases": this is a 1.75% case rate.
We have had about 13K deaths, or about 0.0325% deaths.
Total.

Again, this is a pandemic? The Spanish flu was a pandemic. This is a blip on the global scale.

That is still low as shit. But the crazies will want to talk down the .03% number. Also, the 13k death rate is the new “due to corona virus only count” or the total? I will have to look it up.

Instead of them wasting a shitload of time on a vaccine, what should be done occurring is development of a “predisposition to acute response/death due to COVID 19” test that can be administered to everyone so that an individual can choose how isolated they feel they need to be. Determine what self responsible safeguards they need to take to limit the threat to themselves.

True, because "cases" are people who were sick enough to seek treatment, while most people who get infected either don't notice it or hardly think it worth bothering about.

Exactly, cases are just people who have chosen to voluntarily be tested. Many people who have had it and been asymptomatic or felt maybe only one or two of the symptoms have most likely NOT gone and gotten tested. Therefore the actual death rate/infected case is even LOWER!

Exactly. Modern medicine likely already had therapeutics baked in to solve this based on previous virus and ailments. Yet all this fucking focus on a vaccine. It doesn't work for influenza in many cases if they've taken the vaccine. There's not going to be a vaccine to end covid and this is known. How about we get the flu taken care of first.... ass holes.

If somebody is 80 years old and has multiple life-threatening conditions and they happen to die with the additional positive test for covid19, is that a covid death? If an 80 year old with life expectancy of 5 additional years actually dies of covid (not other conditions), how is that compared to the death of a 3 year old (with 82 more years of life expectancy) from the common flu? It's all politics/marketing. Really, covid could be the savior of medicare and social security when all is said and done.

Have a good friend that lost their 5 year old to a bacterial infection about 4 years ago. It's not only about the kid missing out on an entire life, it's about the parents missing out on what they created. Grandma dying sucks ass, but generally they've lived 70+ years on this planet and had their fun and chance at living their fullest life. We're shutting down people that likely on average have 50-60 years of life ahead of them, with almost zero risk of death. That's not cool.

I've lost a lot of friends over the years. My old neighborhood was a tight knit community. Urban sprawl has made it a soulless suburb but we still have a semiannual get together at the old park.

We keep a list of all members who have passed on. Motorcycle and car wrecks took quite a few. Drugs, alcohol, and obesity also took its toll. There was a lot of cancer. The list is long and only gets longer. As one of my friends said, "Eventually we're all going to be on that list."

Having said that I will mask for food. I have to. They won't let me in the stores or pick up food at restaurants unless my mouth is covered. Only those who follow government edicts are allowed to eat in the San Francisco Bay Area.

As weird as it sounds, I'm fortunate in IL. Masks are actually not enforced here for the most part even though JB no neck just implemented a "mandate" that you have to wear them while talking to a server in a restaurant. I just played volleyball last night and did the handshake line after all three games. No masks being worn whatsoever, indoor or outdoors at the bar.

It's not. Look at the dates for them all..... It's an old chart. Regardless, we have 4x's the population from the Spanish flu years. That's the point. On a per capita rate for the entire world this cannot be classified as a pandemic, even today. That's the point.

We need to lose probably 5-10M for this to be a classic small pandemic. Real pandemic per capita would need 100M deaths at least.

Also, Fauci's triumph AIDS is still a top 5 pandemic. Good job...
