The fact is there is nothing the Dems can do. The president nominates and a Republican majority Senate will decide. True you can rule out Mitt Romney and Sen. Lisa Murkowski and Senator Susan Collins, who has also said she would oppose confirming a new justice so close to the election. But Mitch McConnell will move forward on filling Supreme Court seat and that's all you need, Trump will appoint a woman no doubt to avoid another Kavanaugh spectacle. None the less I predict there will be large scale demonstrations, even riots. This is going to divert resources away from the election and on to defeating the next appointee, for the Dems, who will need a team of lawyers on this issue. It all comes down to a fight over the judiciary, of that you can be sure. You're talking about affecting the top court in the land for the next 20, 30 years, maybe more AND they will have until the president elect and new congress swears in on Jan 19, because the old congress is still in session until then. That's FOUR months! They can do it! There's enough time, but it would be best resolved by Nov 3. The next election will be swayed by what happens HERE. If the Dems lose this one, their voters will be demoralized and that will suppress the liberal vote. The Republicans have to win this battle. A win will galvanize and fortify the base to no end. A sure win for TRUMP! 2020!

I used to think people like this were outliers. You find a couple of crazies here and there in any crowd, but it has become far too common to be considered part of a normal distribution.

Yuri Bezmenov was right. These people are lost causes, there is no path back to normality for them. The only way forward is to ignore them best we can, make sure they aren't allowed into authority positions, and focus on proper education for the young which is where this corruption began.

Scott has yet to put his armchair Political skills to either running a campaign or running a race.

The biggest reason for Trump to Sally forth with the appointment. Even if it is rejected by the GOP majority and voted down. He will have forced Biden to name the picks on his list.
The American people will not tolerate Trump's nominee being rejected, while Biden doesn't even name his.
His pick would be worse than his Veep pick. So close to the election, Biden can't afford another Democrat collective groan.
