Given what we know now, that effectively every institution is corrupted at the top, if not most of the way down, I think he did surprisingly well. Nearly anyone else would have buckled under the intense pressure he was put under.

Be cynical. It's fine to be hopeful, but adopt cynicism. It's better to be pessimistic and be pleasantly surprised than it is to be confident in your wishes and be crushed.

From my perspective, we've had a coup with an illegitimate election and the criminals are going to get away with it and the country will accept it in time.
