Such blatant partisanship in science would perhaps be more tolerable were it not becoming so pervasive. An editorial from November in the prestigious magazine Nature gleefully described the Biden/Harris victory as “a win for facts, research, and empathy,” noting that the “country, and the world, can begin to close the door on four years of chaos, catastrophe, incompetence, and the normalization of false information.” For the first time, top publications such as the Scientific American and Lancet made an endorsement in a U.S. presidential election, opting (unsurprisingly) for Joe Biden. Taken together, the continued blending of left-wing politics with research institutions and publishers will only serve to alienate those on the political right, further eroding public trust in the sciences. Moreover, the politicization of science will inevitably lead to the silencing of valid research that may be politically inconvenient.

Pretty standard for Communism to have one science for "The People" and another compartmentalized science for the real scientists that they need, a rather small clique.

Of course, the science for "The People" is merely more propaganda coercion under color of authority as we have seen with Covid and needs no facts or proofs, and grant whoring by so called scientists is old hat.

Sadly, it's the real science here that is being corrupted.

Scientists are being forced into hypocritical positions, just like doctors are being forced into silence to save their careers. It isn't that they don't know the real science, they aren't permitted to convey it to the public, who are supposed to believe in the State's version of science for propaganda and manipulation. If they have a conscience about leading the public over a cliff, they better suppress it or learn to sell cars and insurance instead.

I recall my first real job after college.
The guy I worked for was nice, but a screaming liberal. He was almost comical to me.
The problem with scientists is they often are beggars seeking grants and they must find something to do that a bureaucrat might pay for.
Lately it’s the global warming hoax.
Recall that guys who are able to truly embrace the scientific method are fewer than we think.
Public opinion is like a pendulum that swings a bit far; I’m old enough to remember the construction of sewage treatment plants; before the EPA, the air and water were nasty around New York. I can remember we burned the trash at our summer place before the town decided to pick it up.
Apartment buildings in NYC burned the trash people threw down the chute.
Today things are much better, but they keep imagining pollution; plastic bags are banned in Santa Cruz because a turtle might choke on it, but turtles don’t swim off California in 50 degree water.

Scientific papers have already been retracted just because the Karens in charge didn't like the facts:

Can’t have science when offended can cancel it.

Because scientists rely on grants issued by government organizations like the NIH, which aren’t likely to issue grants to scientists who buck the narrative in a way that could hurt the NIH. Like exposing the fact that the NIH funded Eco(something) which funded the Wuhan lab with specific mission to develop a bat coronavirus. That’s embarrassing to the NIH, so even though the evidence was out a year ago, hardly any of the science community would comment on it.

I wonder if there is already an underground science movement where scientists say true but politically incorrect things to each other.

An anonymous website can do tons to distribute scientific facts outside of the censors' reach, like https://c19hcq.com/

Read the addendum chapter in "State of Fear" by Crichton about the politicization of science. It's about eugenics in the USA and other "right thinking" circles, and how it was papered over when Hitler made it his "Final Solution." Same thing as climate "science" and Trans "science" today. Years from now old millennials will realize they were duped.

"State of Fear" should be on your bookshelf anyway. One of the few novels with a 50 page bibliography. Crichton was an MD and knew how to do research.

I am shocked that Amazon hasn't banned this yet:

New York Times bestselling author Michael Crichton delivers another action-packed techo-thriller in State of Fear.

When a group of eco-terrorists engage in a global conspiracy to generate weather-related natural disasters, its up to environmental lawyer Peter Evans and his team to uncover the subterfuge.

From Tokyo to Los Angeles, from Antarctica to the Solomon Islands, Michael Crichton mixes cutting edge science and action-packed adventure, leading readers on an edge-of-your-seat ride while offering up a thought-provoking commentary on the issue of global warming. A deftly-crafted novel, in true Crichton style, State of Fear is an exciting, stunning tale that not only entertains and educates, but will make you think.

I think it was published in 2004, before "woke" was a thing. Soon it will be on Amazon's equivalent of Nazi Hitler's book-burning pile.

There are two things feeding this trend:
1) Everything is so complex that only experts can understand, Leave alone people in "unrelated fields" , even the sister fields are hard to understand. This gives experts tremendous power which they can misuse if they are not honest.
2) Experts enable politicians to lie and they hide behind these corrupted experts and oppress the "honest experts".

Politicians/Lawyers will always lie , I put all the blame on experts especially doctors who lie and belittle their oath.

I have to respectfully disagree. A good expert should be the guy who makes the science understandable. The way it is now, experts are rolled out to support political views.

Thus the science of global warming as espoused by Michael Mann and Al Gore and the science of epidemiology as espoused by Anthony Fauci and Bill Gates.

Fucking dystopia is where we live.

A good, honest expert will never be trotted out by politicians or The Establishment.

The people you see on the TV are political hacks who have climbed the ladder not by excelling in their field of research, but through ass kissing and backstabbing.

Yes experts are not doing their job.
Unfortunately without honest unbiased experts it is hard to understand things not so obvious.
e.g How can You know the side effects of medicine in few years without a expert letting you know. If The expert chooses to be dishonest, You have no way to counter that.
>>> Second/Third opinion doesn't matter if all the opposing views are censored or experts oppose/support based on profits/political opinions.
