They just act, and are surprised always by the ramifications.
I work with nothing but Liberals they make decisions to take servers off line because they think no one is using it. Because they were just told they need to set up paperwise.
Rather than checking if it would affect anyone taking a rarely used SQL server off line or if anyone is accessing those tables they just take it down. Then when you confront them that you need it, and ask why they didn't send out an email. They play the victim. God I miss when Conservative critical thinkers ruled the enterprise.

Using an ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) helicopter to de-ice a "clean energy" wind turbine.
Additionally, helicopters are horribly inefficient.
Just out of curiosity, have any wind turbines broken under the heavy weight of encrusted ice?

Just be glad. Imagine how much evil they could do if they could put a plan together.

There are just 125 million taxpayers in the USA. Simple division says the $1.9 trillion Covid relief bill will cost each American taxpayer about $15,000, but you only get $1,400 of that.

Taxpayers being robbed and liberals are the stupidest fucks. Thanks libs for selling out future.

There is a future without sovereign debt, but nobody pays it off.

They are not really raising taxes except on a very very small sub-set of the population. I think it was only about $30-40 billion in taxes raised. They are in fact lowering taxes on households with children. The $1.9 trillion is sheer money printing. It affects people unequally, but does not necessarily discriminate against just the tax paying members of the populous.

There's tax paying members of the populous, 50% roughly and then there's legit tax paying members. Almost 90% of the population pays something like less than $5k to the feds every year. I pay usually about $30k/year to the federal government. I'm getting $0 from this stimulus and got $0 from the previous two.

Yes it's printing, but I and a few others are paying for it. We're not happy. Understand that people, say a family of 4 is now going to just expect getting $5k or so a year. If it's not delivered they're going to be pissed. The federal government went down a rabbit hole that could completely fuck this country. We should have just stayed open and protected the elderly.

Yes, but then Trump would have been elected in a landslide, and the Dems would have had no opportunity to push mail in voting and other fraud.
745   Patrick   2021 Mar 14, 7:11pm

Exactly.

The whole panic was planned from the beginning as a way to unseat Trump. Partly by destroying the economy (only for the little people though!) and partly by justifying mass mail-in ballot fraud.

I think now there are factions among the elite who want to keep their new lockdown powers forever, and others who see that it's not sustainable. It will impact the billionaires too, eventually. Their customers won't have any money.

So that article seems to be saying that going around licking other men's assholes could possibly be harmful to one's health.

That's HOMOPHOBIA!

That also implies the rimmer is licking 3rd World starfish. After all, you cannot catch an intestinal parasite unless the lickee has the parasite himself.

Haven't listened to NPR since moving here. seeing what stations are in the area come across it, damn its even worse than months ago. They are going on about deplatforming "extreme right" there example was some guy that said if your black and don't like the US leave, lol something I think most Americans would agree with regardless of race. On and on about how its getting harder to just cancel people out of making money and videos online. Nation Public Radio anti 1st amendment they are even more deranged now and Trump isn't even in office.

I remember when they used to be fairly objective, 25 years ago.

The United States doesn't have any real news media now, other than tiny independents, which are being constantly deplatformed.

Yes. And all folding knives with a blade locking in the open position.
753   Onvacation   2021 Apr 19, 10:52am

No way!

I looked it up and it's true. Not only that but you must be over 18 to purchase scissors.

I wonder if you can possess those blunt tipped scissors we used in kindergarten.

There was a talk about replacing these classic pub pints with plastic ones. Not sure what happened to that great initiative. Then there was a proposal to sell only round-tipped chef's knives in UK... They are going full retard there.

You can't stop people from sharpening sticks.

When I was in Summer camp (they rescued us from the "project") when I was 7 years old our group leader taught us how to hitchhike, make a pot pipe out of a ding dong wrapper, and make a switchblade knife out of popsicle sticks and a rubber band.

With a pipe and standard kitchen ingredients you can make a gun.

You can't stop people from possessing weapons.

True, the Sten Gun and most Hi-Points are made out of very basic stamped metal. The Polish Home Army had 23 underground workshops busting out local variants of the Sten Gun

I can't be certain this is actually true, but I've heard that pub glasses had to be made out of safety glass in the UK so you couldn't just break a glass and stab somebody to death.

I actually don't think that's a bad idea.

Is a pub glass more dangerous as a bludgeon or a knife?

Safety glass is still a good idea.

I have been to many Pubs in England, and I remember the pint glasses being rather stout (pun). You could bash someone over the head with one much easier than trying to brake the glass. They did not look like safety glass, but that was in the 90s.

I'll just throw this out there- what if- they do have critical thinking. However, an honest debate to examine "truths" and collaboratively improve knowledge is not their actual goal. What if, it's always just been about them getting their pre-conceived outcome. When I think about it in this way at least just a little bit, the "model" to explain variation in data (their behavior in the face of facts, if you will) becomes ever more correlated to predicted data. Throw in a background of team signalling as the social currency du-jour and the "model" gets even more correlated at least to me.
